There was a Battle Royale 2, but it was over long and over convoluted. Versus is good for sci fi/horror craziness. So mental it's funny.

bump, classic film Battle Royale, did they make another one?don't know if i have seen that one yet though.

I saw jacobs ladder a long time ago and thought it was good, just can't remember much of it at the mo,i'm going to have to stop following so many threads but not this one, worn out sitting here replying, ass is numb.If i got whipped i'd not feel it.
Hahaha "ass is numb.If it got whipped I'd not feel it". Cheers for that one Begbie  /default_wink.png gave me a chuckle.

Yeah Jacobs ladder is excellent, & without giving any spoilers (nowt more annoying than spoilers!) if you're interested or fascinated by hallucinogens and there scary effects (like me) then you'll honestly love this film. I personally think the oldies are the goldies

I have no desire to see fifty shades. However, I did hear from an unbiased viewer that it was surprisingly good. I saw news footage of a bunch of women coming out of the theatre after watching it and there was one man that had gone to see it alone in the crowd. He saw the cameras and you could see the fear in his eyes being found out and tried to avoid them but there was nowhere to go. Johnnogg does have a point about all the free porn sites out there though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haven't watched it either & honestly don't plan on it

Yes, there's so much hype about it but ah, I'm ok!!

I'm watching The Culture High on the Flix.its Pretty good not just about MM HAS ALOT 2 do with pain killers and Sticks .

Bisko

Big Fish with Ewan Mcgregor slightly out there but gives you the warm fuzzies

Brazil with Robert De Niro is a good one if you haven't seen it.

Wall E good but scary as it seems they nailed our current existence.

Papillon with Steve Mcqueen is great as well

Just some of my personal faves.

Because of my extreme interest in the silver screen and the moving pictures projected thereupon and my lack of anything better to do with my life atm, i'm gonna suggest a bunch of films loosely arranged by genre so if people want to use these as recommendations, they can pick from whatever suits their mood:

Comedy:

Can't get away from Monty Python so in short order: Knights of the Round Table, Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life

Whitnail & I - particularly suited for those who have or have struggled with drug addictions

The Royal Tennenbaums - To this day Wes Andersons best film

Little Miss Sunshine- cute and macabre at the same time

Dr. Strangelove or how i learned to love the bomb - nothing more to add

Delicatessen -the wierdest, funniest film youæll ever see.

Horror/suspense

Alien - All that needs to be said about this classic has already been said

The Others - A film where every single seems very scary at times and the oppressive atmosphere really gets to you

Dark Water- There was all this Hype about Ringu when the japanese horror films invaded the world, but Dark Water is Superior imo.

The Thing - despite the 80's special effects this film holds up quite well

Drama

The Godfather - another film that needs me to say nothing

Hannah and her sisters - My favourite Woody Allen movie.

Lost i translation - could've been in the comedy section.

Hanabi - Takeshi Kitano at his best

Films with Heavy subject matter, but who can be profoundly moving and rewarding (long headline there)

Come and see (Idi i smotri) - russian war movie that's by far the most realistic war movie i have ever seen. not for weak stomachs, nor for weak hearts as this tears you up emotionally. Filmed almost as a documentary of a teenage boys experiences in the russian army in WW2, and devoid of any sentimentality or heroes.

Wild Strawberries - One of Ingmar Bergmans best films and i can honestly say it changed my life. You rarely find deeper characterization or genuine emotion expressed this way, well almost anywere.

2001 - A Space Odyssey - Stunning to watch- creepy and profoundly mysterious

Grave of the Fireflies- When many people think of animated films they don't think about heavy subject matter - but when they see this films about two young siblings desperately trying to survive in the aftermath of the nuclear strike of hiroshima they may change their tune

Those where just the ones i could think of off the top of my mind. i have a thousand others, but i'll stop for now :)

If you like quirky/foreign stuff: Pan's Labyrinth, Cronos, Dark Water, Versus, Ichi the Killer, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Akira, Audition, Visitor Q, Suicide Circle, Uzumaki, The Vengeance Trilogy, Ringu, The Eye, The Devil's Backbone...

Agree with pretty much all of those films. And for those looking for more japanese stuff, i'd like to add Hana-bi, Sonatine, Zaitochi (rare example of japansese samurai-musical), all by Takeshi Kitano. Also really great anime films: My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro), Nausicaa of the valley of the wind, and Ghost in the Shell. And while not japanese i gotta add Stephen Chow's films ( from Hong Kong) Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. While we're at it gotta mention Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (by Ang Lee, the guy who made The Ice Storm, Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi), but there are several other movies in the same genre, Hero and House of Flying Daggers which are also great.

Gonna get into more classical japanese cinema and south-korean films some point later.

Aren't they more horror than action? Not that I am critising, horror is my favourite genre. :)

Spot the camera crew in the mirror in the store in the early part of Menace II society. Not a bad film in its day.

I forgot to mention Super Troopers. I cannot wait for part 2 to come out!

That first push when AI was updated to all our phones is when I noticed a lot of changes. unless you have time to download a safe operating system for only pixels, and must paid off. GrapheneOS is thew OS.

  19. LW815 @ LW815: Know what’s really going on in somebody else’s head or how much they’re really dealing with and feel like they’re left with no other options. Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
  20. LW815 @ LW815: Was nodding in/out the entire time writing those shouts and spparently was fully out sending the last one lol. But II find it ‘uplifting’ as two people I’ve never actually met and only know the others online presence through subscriptions, who I have a better chance of getting a handy J from Jesus Christ himself, both were so quick to share their own experience and wise words and assurances that things will look up and not to feel guilty or be mad at somebody for going that route - as you never
