Psychedelics Won't Make You Crazy

That's anecdotal. Of course you never come back. That's the whole point. You are set free. One does not know himself before trying these agents of magic, and cannot possibly begin to fathom.

LSD causes most definite long term effects and I have dropped my fair share of doses...  I have taken fungus around 50 times before I hit the age of 20 and LSD at least 30-40 in a few year period.. It changes you for sure.. you are not the same person after a heavy LSD experience that you were before. This rings true on heavy heavy doses of any psychedelic. Be careful with those doses many of the white on white grades of purity vary highly and are some real brain toasters!

I have often said and still firmly believe that everybody should trip at least once in their life.  Be it acid, shrooms, mescaline, peyote...whatever just something to open that window of reality that is naturally closed off.

Lol I did lsd and shrooms sometimes 3x a week and now I have schizoaffective but I also did mdma and it's also hereditary.doesnt disprove the idea that psychedelic drugs improves mental health

im sorry man don't let what happened to me spook ya I just got excited when I saw the topic.

I don't think there's any research showing psychedelics will cause mental illness, but if you're already prone to something because of genetics & environment they may push you in that direction. But actually pot can do the same. There was a large study that researchers claimed showed people who smoked pot were more likely to become schizophrenic, but reanalysis showed that it was likely they just became schizophrenic sooner (based on the age group, the % that would have the disorder eventually wasn't significantly different than the % who showed it in the study).

I've dropped a lot (like every other day for an entire summer & every weekend during the year). It was my DOC between the ages of 14 and 16, when my brain was still developing & I will say that it can permanently alter your perceptions of the world but that's not the same as developing a psychosis. I do have occasional fleeting hallucinations like seeing someone for a a couple seconds, which may be the result of heavy acid use, but that's not the same as psychosis. I have experienced amphetamine-induced psychosis, where I was certain I could hear the conversation of strangers across the room talking about me & was convinced that the Greek gods were still around and that's a whole other ballpark of weirdness.

I thought the whole "acid can send you on a  permanent trip!" was an urban legend until my friend introduced me to a guy who it happened to.  One day he was lead singer in a band and a real ladies man, one trip later he was "lightning" and just never came back.  Everybody else came down and years later this guy is still ranting about his third eye and totally skitzo.

Holy shit @Biteme...I literally could have written your post, word for word (with only the slight change of:  convinced that the Greek gods DEA were still all around)!!!  That's too damn crazy (& actually refreshing to meet someone else who spent an entire summer & year of high school "tripping balls" ~ as we used to say).  I assume you've also sustained the enhanced "tracer" phenomena too. :))

Oh yeah I still get some trails. I dont regret all the acid unlike some of drugs I've done. I was dropping when my friends were drinking. When i started drinking that kicked my  ass far worse as did the meth.

"tripping balls" classic!  I too used to think acid held all the answers.  It had its time and place, now I don't trip hardly ever, there are just too many weird chems that fit on paper.  Ever since Packard god busted in 2000 I've stayed clear of what people say is LSD.  I do my own mesc@line extraction from Peruvian Torch cactus every blue moon, then it is worthwhile.  For the most part tripping is just too hard on me now that I am old.  Also take into account that a lot of hits aren't eve acid, they are DOM or some other weird RC, its just not worth it.  For example I saw a statistic that 77% of the xtc confiscated and tested by the DEA contains no MDMA... The good days are behind us!

I had my share of good times dosing and only had a bad experience one time.  The bad experience was short lived and did not cause any permanent damage. I stopped dosing in 95 at my last Dead show and have not really missed it.  I think, in my case, as I have aged and taken on more responsibility, there are more things in my lil brain that might cause me to lose it.  In other words...I have to much info in my brain, not like when I was 17 or even 25.   I had fun but now I enjoy other less time consuming recs.  Hell dosing takes a lot out of you.....a good 36 hours start to finish, when recovery time is included and I just don't have that amount of time to disappear.    I did enjoy it though....  I have never laughed so hard in  my life....

what about 25i-nbome? is that anything like real LCD or is it somewhat of a different synthetic anologue ? I don't think i ever experienced real LCD but I did try 25i-NBOMe. That stuff is supper potent and can be dangerous if you take too much. I always considered it to be synthetic LCD because much of the effects I got from it is what I would expect form LCD, crazy visuals and stuff like that. But in my opinion MDMA has much more profound value in permanently changing your personality. I believe my whole outlook on life changed when I first took MDMA. It was just like a new perspective of how I view the world opened up to me. It kind of made me realize how much of the way I viewed the world came from my own bitterness or prejudices on the inside as opposed to how an objective person with no prior dispositions would view things. It was really a big eye opener for me that I still haven't forgotten that experience even though it was over 15 years ago when I first tried that stuff.

I've taken Ayahuasca, LSD, 2C-B, MDMA, and edible weed(spread out over the course of 6 years) My mind cannot handle that shit at all.
