Regular Doctor Followup For Refill And Urine Test

Have the big, yearly doctor's visit today!

Nervous as hell. Had a preliminary urine sample given which was questionable. They have never said whether they drug test or not. Guess I'm about to find out!

Good luck 2Earls, my standby response if questioned about opiate in the urine is that I take Canadian aspirin when in pain.  They are sold over the counter in Canada and have a little codeine in them.  So far I haven't had to use it.   My doctor made me sign a contract about a year ago and I had to take a urine test then and once since then.  I wasn't expecting it either time but I only take small amounts of p/k's and not every day and maybe a half of a val once a week but to my surprise she never mentioned anything when I went back.  You'll do fine.

Good luck!!!

What do you mean by preliminary? Did you test yourself at home?

No, I went to the office and they do a bunch of tests. Today I go back and the doc goes over the tests. She prescribes me pks, so unless it is one of those fancy tests, I'll be alright.

Still nervous though. If I lost that prescription, I'd be up shit creek!

is it for your refil, than the doc is protecting himself if your on controlled meds

once a year for me also for my doctor because of the monitoring program ,its a test that test the levels of each drug in your urine, i think it only test 12 panel but in depth
Only a 12 panel. LOL What else(how many more) is there? I know there are other things but I've never heard of test that tests more than a 12 panel and anything beyond that is really a specialty test

Even though those may be legal in CA they aren't in the US so they may still say you are violating your contract. It would be no different than if you took someone else's pk's.

Yes, but I can always play dumb then.  I bought them over the counter... I thought they were just aspirin... I can't believe they contain an opiate... stuff like that.

One crappy thing I found out is that I'm going to need surgery on my finger! It has a weird bump on the knuckle and when I wake up, it doesn't want to straighten out. Thought it was just arthritis or something. Apparently not. :(

I got a bent pinky. It is psoriatic arthritis. No surgery, just an injection with a needle the gage of a coat hanger every 2 weeks. (Humira) GL with the surgery. 2nd opinions from another doc can't hurt either.

when you refer to benny's are you referring to benadryl, or bennys as benzo's , cause i heard some generic X@nz contain benadryl

I have been lucky as well. Each time I think it's going to be the ONE. It's not.

My only fear is the opiate is not in my system that they prescribe. Low dose. Sometimes I run short or I helped out someone else shorting myself.

Or the wrong opiate showing up.

Nothing more embarrassing finding out a shot is coming, drop drawers and realize I wore a thong. Atleast they stayed on but the tech was like What?

That was a few years back when I needed a emergency shot when my back gave out. And was fit.

Forget what med was injected but ended on the table bottoms up.

UA can only detect a few opies.Morfeen, Codeen which turns into Morph by your body, and Oksea. Sometimes Hydros will come up because a small metabolite is Morfeen but you would have to take it the day before because it is so littlle an amount. Any others have to have a special test to find them. If the med you are on isn't one of these,(i.e. Phet Mthodonny) then it would never show up in a standard test. You can also just tell them that you weren't in pain for the few days leading up and didn't take your meds before visit and nothing would show either because they are only in your urine for 3-4 days max.

This might be a bit irrelevant to your problem but I think it's worth mentioning.

Few years back I agreed to provide a pee sample for a friend on a meth program. Well I say friend but she was just a scary aquaintance really, I didn't feel I could say no.

She had been using on top of her script and had been told another fail and her children were being taken.

I had to drink a bit of meth to make it look like her pee. I was taking Zyban at the time (Wellbutrin) to stop smoking and the pee tested positive for amphetamine and she lost custody of her children. She was so mad at me and I was so terrified. My gp said years later that the Zyban shows up as amp.

Bit random sorry

This may be a bit OT too, but re: urine tests:  There are people at my PM clinic who game the urine tests the same way--either give a few pills of what they're supposed to be taking to a friend or spouse to make it look like their pee, or even more ingenious, freezing some of their own pee when they know everything that's supposed to be there is there, and then just unfreezing, getting it to the right temp & sneaking it into the bathroom (you can lock the door & they don;t watch or listen).  Not that I'm condoning this, but I understand why some folks pretty much HAVE to do it...this place doesn't believe in opiate rotation, and I know people (ahem) who ave been on the same dosages for a decade or more & the old dosage just isn;t working & no-one will consider upping it even a little.  But it;s better than nothing, and they are pretty much the only game in town.  Most GPs won;t even consider treating pain patients anymore.  This hysteria has gotten WAAAY out of hand.

i better stop chasing lines i got a urine test coming up WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I went to my pm Dr today, and had to take a pee test, and I signed the paper to the lab it's going to. First time this happened, I took 2 Broz a Pam 6 last night, and went to doctor at 2pm. What will happen to me if I am hot for bennes? My mom takes ataa van, can I just say I took one of hers? If I am hot what happens next?  Help?

If there anything like my old pain management, they can tell how much is in your system.  This is why I never took anything I wasnt supposed too AT least a week before I went in.  My old doc If I would, but i never did...come out "dirty"  They wouldnt work with me the next month unless I was clean from anything else...Personally never happened to me but I was really warned about this..

Since its the first time, maybe you can say you want another test because you know you didnt take anything..even pay for it maybe?? Or be willing.

Or if they already gave you meds for this month.  Just be clean the next.
