Robbed Again At The Beach, This Time Wallet Stolen! Help With Id Protection

so anyway i got cleaned out, they used my id and my stolen card and went to another branch and did a withdrawal in person, so i guess i am broke, the bank always wins, they probably wont reimburse me for the amount taken which is more than $500,.... i had alerts and passwords set, and yet they still failed to confirm before giving out my money, how dumb can a teller be , messing with someones finances

That doesn't even make sense. If your bank knew about the incident and you had taken safety precautions with alerts and canceling cards, then it should absolutely be their responsibility to reimburse you. I had a situation a couple of months ago where my debit card info got stolen online and I didn't find out about it until they had already taken over $300. The bank investigated and the money was back in my account within three days. I really hope they take care of you. Sorry you're luck has been so rotten lately.

i found out more details, when they set up my new account the rep didn't transfer the alerts and passwords to the new account, which caused the teller to allow the transaction to occur, if that rep who opened my account set the same alerts on my original account and transferred it to the new one ,i wouldn't be in this mess.

also now i may have to put a fraud on my DL# , if they are going around using my DL# posing as me, if i put a fraud that means if they get pulled over , when the officer runs the DL# its going to ask them for additional identification since its reported stolen, only downfall is i heard putting a flag on your DL can be complicated when its time for renewal..

i complained to corporate today, managers, i cant believe how they cannot look  @ the DL# and look at the person and say HOLD ON you dont look like this person, and stall the person, call the cops, make the arrest

total loss is now over $2500, also my employer is going to write me up because i used unscheduled time to handle my business today but whatever if they fire me, i already got a HR complaint for harassment and so fort, so they want to dance with the DEVIL, il bring out the DEVIL at work, they think its so easy to handle simple issues and go back to work,

each bank i went to, i had to start from the beginning give the b.s story, after finding out ooops fraud alerts cannot open the account, so i was like whatever you people are dumb , fraud alert and freezes are  2 different things i tried to explain to them, its not like i was opening a new bank account with $0 balance, i guess they dont like my money ! so i went to a private bank

So are they saying that they're not responsible for this mess? I'd be raising some serious hell if so. That's not right. It was their mistake as to why this POS thief was able to get his hands on your money. You did exactly what you needed to do to prevent it. It was out of your hands. Mind telling me which bank so I can steer clear?

Wow, I'm just so sorry about this nightmare.

P N C , they are some untrained individuals, they stalled and wanted to stop me from closing my accounts , lol believe me you, i raised allot of hell, not i just gotta wait and see when il get my money back from PNC< and if i will be a statistic of identity thief in the long run...

what scares me now is whoever is using my ID can go to check cashing places and write bad checks with my DL #, thats whats bad

everyone , if you dont think this can happen to you, no matter where your at than your kidding yourself.

I think so far LIFELOCK , for what its worth $10 has stopped early fraud immediately cause those thieves did some real damage to me and could of applied for credit and whatnot and having alerts on my identity is good.... but it does not put alerts with the credit bureaus or freezes. This you have to do yourself, $10 monitors your identity if someone trys to use your info,, but you still gotta take the extra steps to block your identity. I also purchased a myfico another identity protector, to also monitor PAYDAY LOANS.

payday loan advances have poor screening, and you dont need much info to get a advance, DL# and fake w2/or wage form....these thieves are creative, kinda makes me think why dont they use there skills to start or work at companies that help stop identity loss, but i guess we have the black hats and white hats for that already

lol someday /default_tongue.png , maybe this is some kind of punishment from the higher power but non-stop since 2013? weird uh :/

Yeah Mrcoolguy, you are holding up well mate! Keep the faith too, life's just peaks and troughs as we all know. You're having quite a trough just now though, have some love from across the pond frome anyway! Platonic obviously! 😁

What beach do you go to? Do you post on other social media that you are headed there? If so, that's like getting on f@cebook (which is a cia project) and saying "leaving the country for a week". Then ppl know your house is empty for the pickings. In your case your wallet and such. Maybe it's the postal worker you talk about?

Maybe the local bank teller was in on it. These days you never know. I've been a victim as well. It sucks.

nah i dont do fb, and social media bs lol i dont let anyone know if i go surfing or not, i would just post here

They should reimburse you, they may not give you the whole 500.00 .sorry to hear about that

Don't go to the beach and try to hide your wallet in your shoes, the thieves know this trick.

I know.. when I go on vacation.. I always post my vacation pics when I come back...  Nothing salivates a thief more than to see posts from someone in Hawaii when you live in Chicago.. :-)

Trick ass mofos. I got took and nothing annoys me more than broke losers that thieve. Took stupid things...my daughter's shot record?! Karma will slap them hard.

  12. LW815 @ LW815: Know what’s really going on in somebody else’s head or how much they’re really dealing with and feel like they’re left with no other options. Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
  13. LW815 @ LW815: Was nodding in/out the entire time writing those shouts and spparently was fully out sending the last one lol. But II find it ‘uplifting’ as two people I’ve never actually met and only know the others online presence through subscriptions, who I have a better chance of getting a handy J from Jesus Christ himself, both were so quick to share their own experience and wise words and assurances that things will look up and not to feel guilty or be mad at somebody for going that route - as you never
  14. xenxra @ xenxra: @hotdog45 meh, same difference. they both got blacklisted on here. wouldn't be the first time a rogue shop sent out unsolicited comms after the fact.

  17. LW815 @ LW815: Sent a simple conf email and I just dropped a ball on them. I really just needed to let it out, didn’t expect them to reply in such a thoughtful way that it drastically changed the rest of my day and mindset for the bette . 18. LW815 @ LW815: They didn’t need to. They could have just continued on with the nature or the main purpose of what the relationship between us is, I didn’t really have anybody else to let it out to at the time and they both went far beyond what I’d expect. Not that I’d assumed they’re cold/A-holes - it was just a lot from somebody who’s technically a competent stranger. A very close friend of mine committed suicide on Father’s Day and iwas emotionally wrecked witih nobody to talk to, and the first author just
  19. LW815 @ LW815: @Mokachin0 not really uplifting in the normal sense, but two popular authors on here took the time out of their likely very busy days to not only read my massive walls of text, but both also replied with the most kind, thoughtful and positive responses when I randomly dumped my personal problems into their laps
