When I started with Safe-Mail (2007?). I was advised that the message is encrpyted (FWIW)

However the subject is not encrypted.

This may likely still so. Anone know?

So, "exercising anl over-abundance of caution:"

It behooves us to avoid subs like "great sheet! I wanna order a lot more!"

However avoid silly spammy subjects or you may end up in the Spam folder. Happened to me once.

All please advise where I'm off. I've been out of touch for 3 years.

I strongly reccomend using PGP even with safe-mail.  This is simply because should anything get compromised, you have extra security.

If anyone wants to discuss PGP or other email safety, feel free to respond.  Please encrypt your message using my public key.  It's just good practice as far as I'm concerned.

Interesting take and one thing I've always worried about is security, however, I've come to the conclusion that nothing said or written cannot be broken. My son is in the military, he has told me more than once, "dad if you can think it, we can do it." I have another friend, manager of local telephone entity, he tells me you would not believe the number of wiretaps that they are asked to installed each and every day by the Federal gov't. He said it would blow your mind. Now with all that being said I don't get too paranoid. First someone like me is a small fish, small personal user, and I have no value to them, secondly with the billions of messages and emails sent every day they are after the really big fish, most of us don't qualify and the monitoring it a little overwhelming. Would they be more worried about me trying to pick up a little smoke or some much larger activity that could be harmful, well that answers itself. Again, it does pay to be cautious, not stupid, again it pays to use everything at our disposal to protect our identify, but regardless of what we think, I'm pretty sure any encryption we use can be easily picked apart by the systems that be. Just my take.

Long as this is a safe-mail thread, may I ask our experts & other experienced folk?

In the "Read on" in the Sent folder, the status reported is generally "Sent"

What does "Delivered" signify even a day later?

Never saw that.

Sender & recipient both on safe-mail

Thank You So!

It shows "Sent" if you send from SM to someone with another provider (say gmail, countermail, yahoo, etc.)

"Delivered" shows if you send from SM to SM, and the other SM user has not yet opened or read the message yet.

Once the other SM user reads it, it will change from "Delivered" to "Read on 11-22-12 at (time)" (for example)

Hope that helps.

Thank you Mr. Heisenberg!

Makes perfect sense. The definition in SM help was vague & confusing (at least to me).

Of course had I thought this out, there would be no confusion.

A consistently 1000% service not getting to read every email immediately on the penultimate day of shipping before a holiday? Is that possible?

If I stopped to think, I wouldn't have sent 6 increasingly concerned emails.

Thank you for putting my mind at ease, Mr. Heisenberg. It all worked out & the merchant answered each email without annoyance in the slightest!

Happy holidays to you & the rest of our community!

  3. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.
  4. S @ soupson: bless your heart buddy. no sense of grammar or proper insults/jokes. you need this place in ways i can’t comprehend
  5. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: Sweet Ol' Me asked about Real ID, Stoup. Are you responsive to emails ? LMAO
  6. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: I smell some Stoup. Is Stoup's on ?
  7. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda You win. I am lost. Thought you were surprised your license was a Real ID, now you say you provided those items.
  8. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  9. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.
  10. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @Turbo259 advertising - putting in writing for example an negative action to show they are guilty prior to taking action.
  11. B @ bigblueallda: I haven't flown in an airplane in 20 years lol. Can't recall the last government building I have been in either. According to the symbol it tells me I should have on my ID to make it a Real ID I do have one in my state

  14. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda are you sure you have a Real ID ? I mean , they really want 6 points of proof and 1 for your addy and 1 for your SSN. Did you maybe get it done and forgot and flew out of the country or something ?

  16. S @ soupson: did anyone ask about real id or is sweet ol jimmy just rambling
  17. T @ Turbo259: @drjimmy1964 what did you mean by advertise? not gettin the verbiage, DM works if anything, just didnt understand
  18. B @ bigblueallda: {Visit your local Driver Service Bureau with the necessary documents: original birth certificate, Social Security card, and two proofs of your state's residency. } I definitely provided this when I had to get a new ID when i let mine go expired too long maybe I unknowingly got one but I think it is pretty standard here.
  19. B @ bigblueallda: Well it was a state id renewal. Before that there was a mixup and I had lost my birth certficate and social security number. After a couple of weeks and finally getting several documents in order I was able to get a state ID. It had been expired previously for a little too long and they wanted all kinds of proof. It was a mess. But nah I looked up what to look for an my state's ID to see if it is a Real Id or not and my card as the symbol it is supposed to have. I'll take a closer look though
