The next President!

I think Trump is more likely to cause damage to this country than any other candidate running, with the possible exception of Ted Cruz. He strikes me as someone who cannot consider the possibility of being wrong & at the same time has no real experience about how government wants. I know people don't like career politicians but as someone who works with federal agencies, I can tell you it is a culture all it's own (e.g., like the army, which of course is part of the gov't). As much as I like Obama as a person, I think his greatest failings stemmed from a lack of experience & Trump has even less & I don't even like him as a person. He is an egomaniac & a salesman & I wouldn't trust him to deliver on anything. He may believe he can but I'm not even sure if that's true. I also think the idea that we need a strongman to lead us is false--I think we have a competent military & I'd rather have someone who would listen than someone who thinks they can do anything because they've created a successful reality TV show (& that was Trump's most successful venture, if you look at profit for expenditures).

Trump's one saving grace is he's not a religious dictator, and I think that's what Cruz would be if he could. For instance, Trump has the best rating among Republicans regarding his opinions on the drug "war," although Clinton has better (I just use that example because of where we are). Cruz, on the other hand, is a nutcase on social issues & I really think he'd like to see the Federal government fall apart, which would be infinitely worse than what we currently muddle through. Plus, most people who know Cruz well hate him, from his college roommate to his Republican colleagues in the senate. He is the sort of person that would only allow people who graduated from Ivy League schools in his study group--talk about elitist assholes--and who would shut down the government over a battle he knew there was no way of winning just because it gave him points with voters.

So I'll vote for Clinton, although I've never been a fan, just because she has the least chance of making things worse.

@Biteme Very well said!!!  I am not a fan of anyone in the race and I am still unsure who I will vote for, if I vote.  Ted Cruz creeps me out to no end.  He has a sliminess about him that I can't quite put my finger on.  When I see a picture of him or seem him talk he looks like a pervert.  I know it sounds irrational but thats the vibe I get from him.  Aside from his appearance, I think he is a social issue dinosaur.  The country has made great strides in the past few years regarding women's rights and gay rights and I would hate to see us taken back to the stone age.  I wholeheartedly agree with your assessments and hopefully this country will not suffer the wrath of a Trump or Cruz Presidency.

I think Hillary is the best fit.  Simply because Bernie (while has the best ideas) probably will have a hard time with moderates and the electoral vote.  I'm afraid it would be another Al Gore situation.

oh cool this topic is still trending

well i elected my self to not run for office due to incapacity of my mind ;)

Well it appears the people have spoken.  I guess I will take solace in the fact that the next few months will provide hours of laughter that will hopefully, mask my fear of the impending failure of this once great country.   I never take much stock in who is the President of our country as long as they don't embarrass us on a national stage as I think local politics affects my life more on a daily basis.....I never thought I would say this but "Go Hillary?!?!"   SMH I am cautiously praying for gridlock....

Hard to make a pick at this point, for sure.  Have to trust in the brilliance of the founding fathers at this point.  Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Hamilton, had an appropriately cynical idea about human weakness, and created a system that could hopefully withstand any autocratic individual from being King or Queen.  Have to depend on their foresight now.  But, like antnouse, can't help from looking forward to the show.

best to all, Sheraton Giibson

Hello S and All,

Nice to meet you. OMG are you on point! I have never flip flopped like I have this election. I want to vote for Trump even though I am a Democrat as I believe he will do exactly what he says he will do and that is stellar for our country! However, has anyone had any thought on Trump becoming a Tyrant! Just saying....:)

Best,

P

I think Trump would be a disaster. The lesser of 2 evils would be Hillary.  That is who I am voting for.

Sanders supporter here :( Saddened. I have tried to "get" Hilary but her "Happy Ramadan!!l tweet ended it for me. I just cant do it. There is something wrong with her.

Many heated debates recently regarding the Trump. Im so sick of his negativity. I love this country and this guy is getting up there complaining how we dont "win" anything. How he is going to take this dump and make it "great again" He tells the world that our military is getting its ass kicked :( This is so embarrasing, this is the best they got. He must be a ringer; who's the real republican candidate? Remeber the good old days of George W..... when we had a president who's favorite book when he was a child, was a book released when he was 23 y/o?:)  That was good times.:+

Wow, didn't you end up being right?  I voted for Sanders in the primaries and Clinton in the end.  I was so depressed when Trump won.  I cried.

I was actually wrong on the drug war point. Since he has come out fully in support of Sessions who believe drug laws are not tough enough. But I don't think Trump feels very strongly about anything other than making money and feeding his ego.

This election will go down as a shocker, that's for sure. It doesn't matter who you voted for, U.S Army Veteran is correct when he days no one saw this election turning out the way it did.

Anyone support trump? I do but I am a veteran and from the south so republican is in my blood....

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: @WTF7218 it may as well be that way with how little effort some of the people on here make to find information that's exactly where you would expect it to be.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
