Has anyone else found that the withdrawal off these buggers is particularly nasty? Physically, I'm a mess at the moment....sitting at work praying for death, etc

Haven't personally experienced it, but I've heard that it can be worse than some of the popular opiates. I know several members have extensive experience in this regard, so hopefully they'll be able to weigh in and give you some guidance. All the best, and we're here for you!

Jsaurus: yes, some people have wd's from tram worse than others do from the higher classed opiates.

If you're feeling that badly - do you have to go cold turkey? Is it possible to taper down from them? Depending on your dosage, length of use etc, a taper may be much easier for you. If will power is an issue, maybe you have someone you trust to help with the dosage - dispense to you only what youve mapped out?

From one of your earlier posts it sounds like it's been a daily thing with you for 3 or 4 months now? If thats the case, try lowering your dose by 20% or so, once or even twice a week for a month or so, until youre able to quit completely.

This is probably a better way to go, especially if youre unable to take time off from work! I feel for you - I've done the "siting at work praying for death" thing! It seriously sucks!! Good luck to you and let us know how you are! I'm sure your post will bring lots of prayers and positive thoughts your way ;-)

Yeah, I'm not quitting...I just am a few days away from a refill. Just have to suck it up for a couple of days, I guess. It's a ridiculous drug, tramadol.....I never really feel it, but I sure as fuck feel it when it's gone.....

It does help with the pain, I will concede that....but I was up every hour on the hour last night....I work with kids, so I've tried to be pleasant today, but boy, what a struggle. I used to be on oxys and dope about a decade ago....quit through suboxone, then got in a car wreck....I don't remember the WDs being this bad....

Ahhhhh...I see. So this doubly sucks!

Assuming you mean a refill from a local dr? If so, maybe look into an order from a vendor here, to have extras on hand so it doesn't happen again. I know the MOPs carry this; could at least get it sent over

night that way. If youre waiting on a vendor or can't order due to cash - I'm just flat out of ideas, sorry! ;-/

Thanks for the kind words...yeah, I've thought about ordering some extra trams online....I usually just order dhc and the like to help with breakthrough pain....

Sorry to hear about your WD effects.

Just wondering, if you've had a chance t read this thread from start to finish? Quite interesting, to say the least.

From what I know, it's a really tough med to be taking - especially long term. I REALLY suggest you speak with your doctor about getting off that med and using something different. That's just me, though.

Take care. I can feel your pain, trust me.

Ugh, another day....barely slept last night, and I must look like hell. Another WD side effect I've noticed: my back pain is much more constant. At least my refill is tomorrow....

It occurs to me that I'm just talking to myself here........but this sucks! I don't have the type of job that you can take off with ease, and so here I am...another nasty thing is how little my brain is functioning...tasks are taking me three times longer than usual.....

Ah, jsaurus, I know right where youre at! I feel for you. Sounds like you have to get thru one more night, right?

If you have a hottub, that really helps. If not, just plain old bathtub works! Also, ANYTHING to take your mind off of it - seriously, reruns of law and order or something you enjoy can work wonders! Hopefully you can turn on Netflix and turn off your brain? Just knowing this is your last night should help. It does for me! Also, if posting here helps, post away! I'm always reading, even if I can't reply. I imagine others do the same...

Best!

Tramadol withdrawal is notoriously painful. I've read of people not sleeping for a month or two when coming off. I have a naturally bad reaction to them. After about a week of taking them, I get terrible insomnia and anxiety. My last bout lasted two months. I downed 200mg of Valium and somehow it fixed it for good.

The lethal dose of Valium is said to be 135mg/kg or 283mg/lb. So if you weigh 100lbs, 2835mg will likely kill you. This is when it poisons you, hurts the organs. A high dose like that may kill you in other ways like vomiting into your lungs or other bodily effects. Coma is likely, and surviving can bring on tremendous anxiety when it wears off. You've more than depleted your GABA supply. So don't think I'm too crazy for downing such a large amount of pills.

But definitely put a substantial amounts of benzo's into your system to ease the withdrawal. You'll thank me later.

Unfortunately, I've no benzos and no hot-tub..this has really kicked my ass...no sleep for two days, all the typical WD symptoms, and something more that I can't quite describe, these brain spasms or something....I'm usually more eloquent...

Tramadol acts like an anti-depressant, so you may get strange sensations in your head, maybe even brain shocks. Go overnight with a Mex Pharm. Healthcareproviderrx.com is my favorite. Grab a half order of Valium (45 10mg brand tabs), it'll run you $125. I can help arrange this instead of you going through the whole new customer form thing. You should PM me.

Thank God, I've been thinking about your situation on and off all day. It just really hits home how bad it can feel. It's a total mind-fuck because you're losing two types of neurotransmitters, serotonin and nor-epinephrine, and they play so many roles in the brain (I just read up on it). You were risking a seizure too. The relief must be wonderful. Did you know that you can refill a benzo 5 days ahead of time? This former benzo addict is sure of it. I actually went there once 6 days before the 30 day period and they said to come back tomorrow. Just a helpful hint.

Yeah, I've really gotta have a heart to heart with the doc....this really did floor me
