@aintnouse Agreed. I am actually taking a political philosophy course this semester, and of course we’ve already discussed the impeachment. I’m actually more comfortable discussing Plato and Aristotle tbh. I had to stop following the news as closely after Kavanaugh got onto the Supreme Court. It’s just so depressing. And it’s hard not to feel helpless.

@LunaLovegood    Unfortunately we are helpless.   Once the supreme court decided that corporations and super pacs can donate unlimited amounts of money in the guise of free speech it was over for us.  I was reading an article, I forget which magazine, maybe the Atlantic or something like that, that talked about the money right wing organizations were spending to defeat the legislation to end surprise medical billing.   It was millions upon millions of dollars.  I thought to myself how much good could that money do helping people that really need help or put it towards education, homelessness or something benevolent.   Instead they want to prevent the bill from passing so people go medically bankrupt when they get crushed with a bill that is out of their insurance network.    Kavanaugh......what a piece of human debris....serial rapist on the court.  Only in America.   I keep trying to look away but its like a car accident.  I drive by and dont want to look, but I cant help it.   Unfortunately all the great things Obama did are being undone because our insecure fat bloated orange p.o.s. has such a delicate ego that he has to destroy legislation or executive orders meant to keep our air, water and ground clean and undo the healthy school lunch initiative all because an african american succeeded in getting it done.   He's is the worst person ever to achieve the highest office in the land and it makes me sad.   Is half of the country really that brainwashed on the sickening Kool Aid that he is pouring for them to drink?   I just dont understand and I yearn for peace, harmony and an effort to help keep the climate from destroying us.    I could go on but its early and I dont want my day destroyed.    :)

@ainouse.  All these things you say are true and look how Trump put the fascism and greed for power that most politiicians have and put it on display in an undeniable way.  Are we just trying to cover up in Congress who has the real power by concentrating on an impeachment proceeding?  Well, it's been a few years and he hasn't started a war, so that's good. I thank him for mobilizing people and highlighting how corrupt these organizations are.  He never really was a Republican, but knew he had to pick a side to be the president.  They have gotten behind him very reluctantly, I myself believe that the presidency isn't a real position of power.  They get in there and go WTF and start issuing executive orders.  A good amount of power comes from picking judges.  I know the Supreme Court ones were controversial.  However, the local federal judges are a good mix.   He reversed NAFTA.  Too little, too late, but hey, a token nod to those of us that thought it would ruin the country, and it did.  The wall is a few miles.  Most immigrants come here because their children are DACA children and they want to see them.  He has highlighted the plight of these immigration issues, environmental issues, trade issues like no other president and have gotten people worked up over it.  Could this have been the plot all along?  And now he commutes the sentence of Blago, a governor who was pretty corrupt himself.  I think that all Blago did was do what everyone else was doing and "they" targeted him.  He sure didn't know when to shut up.  He got a very high sentence for what he did compared with other corrupt governors in illinois.  There, again, highlighting the corruption, even in himself.  I have to always ask myself what is the real agenda.  I am sorry everyone, I have done my ra-ra days of getting behind a candidate.  I don't do that anymore.  Itruly believe that the elections are now an arrangement between the parties.  Most elections are  won by the incumbent.  Unless they have a George Bush, Sr,  "no new taxes" moment, I think Trump still has a good chance of winning.  Just think of how the Republicans will drool over him getting elected again.  Take a pharmaceutical  executive to his place in Florida for a round of golf and they're bringing in millions, I'm sure.  The whole living and existence of a congressperson depends on if they can raise enough money for the party and for their next campaign.  It's kind of like a homeless person.  Well, this round and round from Reagan to whoever the green party person was in the last election has solidified the fact that my vote does not count.  Much more productive to get involved in your local politics, school board, mayor or "village manager" as they call them now.  There is one thing I can't figure out.  If he can bring in so much money, how come the impeachment?  I can't help but think how far your political enemies can go and what kind of precedent this would have set if it had been successful.  Please find Alan Dershowitz'  speech in Congress regarding how the 2 charges are not crimes and his interpretation of what the consequences could be if charges are brought.  He is as liberal as you can get  Why would he decide to speak out for the person who is as opposite of his beliefs as you could get?.  Again, this is highlighting corruption in government.  It's saying "PAY ATTENTION."  If Bernie and the Donald start styling their hair because of needing to look good on TV, we just might get a win as a nation.  P.S.This message in no way endorses Donald Trump, but it was some things that made me go hmmm.

@chchtwo Hmmm, I am wondering what your news sources are? Do you actually think you know anything about most trump supporters? Does a lack of hatred for the man qualify as being one of his supporters, in your opinion? So, half of the country is under his spell and most of them live in information cocoons? You sure about that? It’s an interesting assumption, though I don’t know what “spell” you are actually referring to, sounds rather hyperbolic to me. I am sure that some of his supporters are in their own political echo chamber, just as many of his detractors are, but to say that “most”of them are is just absurd and actually says more about you for making such an erroneous assumption than it does about the so called “other half”. I have never been a Republican or a Democrat, and I never will be. That being said the Democrats are the worst shitshow  going right now. They had 4 years to get their act together and have wasted it on total nonsense and if you did as much research on politics as you do on drugs you’d be fully aware of this. Facts. You don’t have to be a trump supporter to know what’s up. It’s unlikely that trump will be going down in 2020, but its not completely improbable.  If he does win I hope the dems do some real soul searching and hopefully re-emerge as the party they were with JFK (but up with current times and more enlightened about certain issues). If they continue on as they are now, they can go the way of the whigs as far as I’m concerned. In my life I have friends with a wide range of political beliefs, I’m chill with everyone until they start acting unreasonable or hateful.  A live and let live Classical liberal. Fair enough?
Alright then people, have fun.

If you think Trump is worse than George W., then you have lost sight and really need to educate yourself  a bit more politically. It’s so disheartening seeing people who were once on point politically be completely blinded by the very people they once stood against. ✌🏻

No offense, but I have to disagree.  I didn't really hear anything in your post that inticed me to contemplate my position.  This is the worst president ever.  He's erasing what we have always represented as a country.  All I see damage, some irreparable.

Best regards,

Chctwo

I'm not a big lib either.  However, it's not difficult to see what is going on.  As far as news sources, let's just say I do not sit around watching MSNBC, if that's what you are implying.

I respect your opinion though.

To each his own.

Regards,

Chctwo

Lol, I am a slight lib.  I do agree on some things with traditional republican ideologies, definitely not current republicans.  I do land left of center though.  Go Biden!  Or hell, Bernie is not that bad.  I'm sure that will get a response.  Hopefully not a diatribe.

I have to weigh in as being as anti-Trump as anyone, but I do have to agree with @SOLIDST4T3ENTITY in that I don't like sweeping statements that attempt to stereotype or categorize any political group. For the life of me I cannot understand how anyone could like Trump, but if we are going to be critical of him for being devisive then we need to set a better example.

I agree.  I'm just being lazy and don't really have the inclination to break it down.  It causes unneeded stress.  I do enjoy enjoy these mini pencil discussions.  But, you are correct in that to some level it is not a good example and does incite divisivenous.  There are a couple of levels of discussion here.  One is the pencil discussion (a little bit tongue-in-cheek), the other is more of a thoughtful analysis/debate, more extensive, with feelings.  They definitely don't go together.  Good point and nice catch.

  1. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  4. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  5. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  6. aBBazaBBa123 @ aBBazaBBa123: @rockychoc How do I contact you?
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
