LISTEN UP
important info vendors & buyers should know: there is a huge shortage of workers due to defunding of the non-privatized carrier of choice. There are some wealthy persons attempting to have it privatized for obvious monetary gain. (this is loosely related to the defunding, and although both things are true, it’s doubtful any laws to privatize will make it through), BUT, read on for the relevant and important part…
IMPORTANT INFORMATION : the defunding has caused this carrier to outsource to a privatized one at several major regional centers. This means, our choice carrier has been and will continue handling over a portion of their packages , including prior*ty , to this privatized carrier, at these regional points along their regular routes, and carrier B,, who is not bound by any laws that protect our mail from being opened in transit, take over the remaining route all the way through final delivery. Neither shippers or buyers will be informed if their package is handed to carrier B along the route and There’s no way to know in advanced and no way to ensure it won’t happen. The implications are obvious so i won’t get into them.,
WHAT YOU CAN DO
everyone should take steps to tighten up their opsec. Clean house prior to ordering, vendors should take extra precaution in how they pack their items . Do not get comfortable and let your opsec and safety practices get loose, because you will not know if your package is one that has been outsourced to a company that can legally open your mail with no warrant.
This is not meant to panic anyone, you can take measures to keep yourselves safe if you take extra care in your virtual and non virtual opsec. The basics you should already have made habits are critical. Like cleaning house, ignoring any packs with odd updates like “held at post for pick up” or “requires signature”…anything out of the ordinary should put you on high alert .
Essentially, plausible deniability is your best and most important defense, now more than ever. You can find the regional hubs where this outsourcing is occurring online,, it’s not a secret but they also didn’t exactly try to make it known to customers. I recommend you check the typical routes your packs follow, and compare them against the list of outsourcing hubs.
And everyone should TIGHTEN UP. Don’t forget that no matter what. You are in control of whether or not your opsec is tight enough for an opened parcel to come back on you. Private severs (create your own dns with a pihole or similar) use XMR only, encryption/pgp, CLEAN devices, including phones- do not reference anything related to your happenings online to anyone in unencrypted text, email etc.3rd party vpns alone will not protect you -.if you have the means,,create your own private dns & vpn, (this is part of my personal opsec and I consider it to be the most important aspect for myself) (tutorials on Reddit for hosting a private dns & vpn) ), don’t track your packs (obviously), ID will not show if a package has been handed to carrier B…it’s not clear to me yet if 3rd party apps like 17track will show that handoff or not because I don’t track anything via any method ever, so I can’t comment on that part, but Assume You will not know until that carrier B van pulls up with it unexpectedly.
I repeat,,CLEAN HOUSE BEFORE ORDERING, keep a clean low profile in everyday life, tell no one about your online happenings, use one of the many methods available to keep any potential virtual evidence OFF your devices and unconnected to you.
Don’t pajic, use this as motivation to find and repair loose spots in your opsec.
I understand this last one is hard, but if possible, try to avoid ordering when your in a state of desperation…the fear of withdrawal will absolutely cloud your judgement and cause you to take risks with huge implications . Be safe yall!
