Hi Headbanger,

I kind of blame Motley Crue for starting the hair band craze.  I mean after they first did the big hair, there was hair bands for next 2-3years, followed by the dreaded power ballads the another 2-3 more years.  Those where dark times for metal.

Zep was a little before my time but I enjoyed the stairway to heaven album a lot.  I remember trying to play it backwards so much that I ended up destroying the album.  Then I bought a tape that I could take a part, I then recorded, then took the tape apart, swapped the reals and carefully put the tape back.  I played it backwards again but didn't hear anything.  My last attempt was I recorded it, on my fathers real to real, took the reals out and swapped them.  Now I could easily pay it backwards and have control of the speed.  After listening to it at different speeds there is a clear section where Plant says sweet Satan a couple times also says 666.  Anyways considering 95% of the song is about a materialistic woman trying to buy her way into heaven there is a small section of the song that doesn't have any relevance to the entire song so I am guessing that they put it there intentionally.

I had no idea 'Stairway to Heaven' was one of those so-called songs that if played backwards, and stoned out of your mind, also supposedly contained warped/distorted satanic messages. Not gonna bother testin'that out either, thank you very much /default_smile.png

I recall the same being alleged with a Beatles tune, and Ozzy song, and something by Judas Priest - which evidently went all the way to Court as the parents of one troubled/drug addicted boy with a shotgun took his own life due to playing the song backwards and hearing the words "Do it now." The judge/jury had the common sense to basically dismiss it.

Yes I believe Stairway to Heaven has those Satanic messages hidden in the song.  The reason is if I played it backwards and it said The president, car, or anything else then I could believe it's a coincidence but the song is about Heaven so it's difficult to believe that the opposite of the song's meaning is hidden in their was an accident. I don't know any of them who have actually admitted to their song being intentionally worded that if played backwards, there is another meaning or actual lyrics which make 'sense'. Even if the "backward lyrics" are non satanic or evil.
Do you by any chance?

Plant has said that he doesn't know how to sing backwards so he has never admitted to it and basically told everyone, in an interview, that he doesn't know how to sing backwards.

Okay, I believe that, he does not know how to sing backwards but I honest think he recorded those words backwards then wrote some verses in the song that sounds like those words when you sing them normal.  In the song the section that has those Satanic verses don't really make any sense or even fit with the entire songs theme.  In other words, he put a section of verses that mean nothing when the song is played normally.  I recall it's the section where he sings 'if there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now'.  It's either that one or some other verse like that really doesn't make any sense.  So I hope I was able to understand your question.

Love and animals. I will be a vet in less than a year and i cannot wait! I really want to donate to seniors ani mal care. Also to bring trained doggies to nursing homes. That is my passio n and my goal in life

Yes, I recalled you wanting to be a DVM.

That's a very noble goal and passion that you have.  I wish you all the best in your future.  You truly understand that's there is much more to life than trying to make the most money after you graduate.  I wish I could have had your since of understanding, of what's important, when I graduated, then I wouldn't have made so many mistakes.  It's kind of strange I was thinking that you would do more work with cats but then bringing trained doggies to nursing homes is very nice and I am sure everyone will greatly appreciate it.

Animals, they run my life. I work to feed, medicate, and buy them stuff. Every spare moment is spent with them.

Would have LOVED to be a vet. Can't stand blood. I only got to be a creulty investigator for the OSPCA(Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals) and a bylaw officer. Wish I was in that job again..

We are in dire need of spay/neuter&release program in the north here. Too many animals die needlessly!

Yes, CatintheHat has a very noble and caring nature, just like you do as well.  When someone cares about animals and others it says a lot about their character.  The sad truth is there are many selfish people who only care about themselves and nothing else.  They only care about getting laid, making money, pretty much anything for their own selfish gratification.

I once had what you guys had but sadly it's a thing of the past and like the old saying goes, " you don't know what you have missed until you don't have it anymore".

I wasn't 100% truthful when I described what mattered to me most. To be honest nowadays everything matters to me the most.

Hi Unknown. Everything does matter! That really resonates with me right now. 2 days ago I was able to get off the couch after 3 months and resume life. Now I even enjoy being able to do laundry, anything at all!

You don't appreciate it til ya lose it but what matters most is just living and loving life.

Your truly understand what is important.  I can honestly relate to what you are saying and I really appreciate your comment.  You know exactly  how I feel.  Once you  have something taken away you then really know how fragile everything can be.  If you every watch lock up and the episode about people who are on death row they will say they now that they know they have a limited time left to live they will say the things that they miss the most is all the small stuff.  The sun rising, brushing your teeth, etc.

If I could give you give you a grade, when I was a TA, I would give you an A+.

That's an old wives tale. There's no such thing as hidden messages if you play certain records backwards. It might sound like a message, but it's pure coincidence + how much you force yourself to believe it's intention.

Yes that's what everyone says but you can listen to it on youtube.  Nowadays with much better technology many people have played the entire song backwards and analyzed it and   you will hear there is only one section where Plant say sweet Satan and 666.  In that section if you look at lyrics you will see that there is no reason to put that in the song  because it really doesn't make sense.  Take a look on youtube and tell me what you think.  If I had to bet money I think there is a higher probability that it was done on purpose than by accident, if I look at the entire picture.  I mean it is possible but not probable.
