KK, I truly think that people are born with a predisposition towards good / bad.  Other things from infancy to adulthood influence that predisposition and I think one can be swayed from one to the other, but WTF is wrong with people, at least here in the US; IMHO starts with an inherent sense of entitlement.  That combined with the need of newer generations to have immediate gratification, either good or bad, further contributes to a degradation of our society in general.

Combine that with a general lack of respect for what so many have gone through to ensure that we as citizens have the privilege of having a modicum of freedom of choice, speech and our overall freedom, lack of manners and the inability to actually communicate without everything being "be all end all", is sending our country down the toilet.  Root cause #2 is parents.  I have seen far too many parents that should not have children.  They promote the lack of values, work ethic, respect and loyalty to our country.  With each generation, it slides further into the abyss.

Now some good people are turned bad due to traumatic circumstance, horrible occurrences, etc.  I exclude them to an extent because it may be beyond their control to stop themselves from the slide to them being one of the "WTF is wrong with people" crowd.

It troubles me every day what I see our society becoming and the path I foresee it taking due to the "WTF is wrong with people" crowd.

I know that is not a comprehensive answer, but I reckon I have my own personal reason for being up on the soap box shouting this stuff out today.  Time to take this country back from the a-holes.  S-
I brought my 2 Boys up the way that I was brought up....Manners. Respest.Morals. and They are two awesome kids...Always willing to help others...I agree it is all in the parenting!...Both of them know what I respect  from them and they go by what  I say...I lucked out....

You didn't say anything wrong. I wasn't being sRcastic at all. Totally serious when I said I was lucky. Anyway. Beating dead horse..... Was feeling thoughtful and honestly lucky. Totally didn't take it in a bad way. /default_smile.png. Usually I'm a moron when people insult me lol. I laugh and say thanks thinking they are being nice.

Anyway .. Thanks for saying nice things ....

I have had one of those days where nothing seemed to go right . As I was laying on my bed trying to collect myself, my son came and laid beside me, started talking about the jump he built today at the ski mountain, he spent all day building it today and can't wait to try it out tomorrow! I love his passion for life, he is my surprise baby and when I found out I was pregnant with him I was so bummed out. He fell asleep on my bed beside me, and when I look at him sleeping right now I can't believe how truly blessed I am that I was given this child. He eats up life, and has the best attitude. It brings tears to my eyes to see him growing up so fast. I am proud of all my children but he has brought so much joy to our lives and I can't ever imagine my life with out him! Just had to say this because I had such a crappy day, and he came in and made me realize how truly lucky I am. Good night all, see you all fresh and shiny in the morning!

I, too, love this post Lexi. Such beautiful words from a mama. It reminds me that I need to slow down sometimes. My son is still fairly young, though one of the sweetest, most thoughtful little guys that you would ever meet. So thoughtful that when I walked out to the end of our driveway last week to get he and his sister off of the bus, I forgot to put on a coat and it was pretty cold out, he took his off and told me to cover my arms with it so that I wouldn't be so cold walking back. It melted my heart.

Just like I know that your moment with your son melted yours...I could feel that in what you had written. /default_smile.png Thank you for the reminder to slow down.

Hi Lexi,

I haven't introduced myself to you yet but I just wanted to say hi and I hope you realize how lucky he is to have someone who loves him so much. There's nothing more important for a child to know and feel that.

We have no kids and feel the same as you Cat, that we sometimes wish we did.
And Lexi, your description of your kids enthusiasim sure brings up memories of me being a kid.

I wish as an adult I would have been one of those lucky enough to still have a pure joy of doing what I am doing like when I was a kid.

The line from a Joe Walsh song "Going thru the motions trying not to snore..." fits me most days.
