Moneygram Troubles!

I do not know how the term SY came about or what the abbreviation stands for

Was the LL for schedule 1 or 2 drugs? if it was I can understand but if it was for benzos or something like that I would say enough time has passed to give a IOP another go.

Not pointing you in any direction or telling you to use them but TTM takes credit cards and ships fast (10 days max for most in the US), it might work out for you if they have what you are looking for but it will not be overnight/next day like the SY vendors.

If you are looking for Hydr0 or something like that I don't think anyone will take a CC and that leaves you with Money Gram or Western Union.
I only ever ordered benzos from an IOP, nothing scheduled.  I got those covered now by my doc.  Now I have to figure out the other one.  Sigh, it just shouldn't be this hard when you have a valid medical condition!!!  I know someone who recently had major back surgery (cut open, grouted out) and they got 20 hydr0 and 90 tram...tram did nothing and doc said no refills for the h.  Insane.

But SY =??  I'm still lost on that one!  I haven't used an IOP since 2009...that is dangerous territory.  I got one LL and that was the end of that.  Now with the MG trouble, its all over with this vendor too!
SY are the initials of a border town where the goods usually ship from. That's where the name comes from.

I just sent a small order with wu instead of mg. mg wouldn't go through, but wu did. Fingers crossed.

Question: can we invite venders to read what's been happening with mg and wu? We've got to find another payment option, or all of us are screwed. PayPal?

That is a great idea!  When I told my vendor about my issue with MG he said "find a new vendor"...nice.  But the tides are turning and soon they will all need to find a new payment method.  IMHO, no one is safe with either WU or MG.  They are both monitored and tracked so I can't see using either of them ever again.

I think if enough vendors are hit by this wave of trouble, they will have to think of alternate methods and quick or they can kiss their customers bye-bye.  My vendor was allowing bank transfers for a short time this year, then he abruptly stopped and when back to MG only.  The bank transfer was the best because it cost nothing and was more anonymous.  I used cash at a bank, didnt give them my name (they didnt ask) and so all they had would be me on a camera but no name.  It was genius.

Do the vendors ever read this forum?  Maybe we should ask an admin to set up a forum just for them to read with our suggestions?

Monalee, by 'bank transfers' do you mean you deposited money in someone's account?

Yes, I got the bank account number from the vendor and deposited physical cash into it.  All I needed to give the vendor was the transaction number...no name was necessary because I emailed him my details.  No one at the bank even blinked, no questions asked...unlike MG!!!!!!!!  It was the perfect system and no fees either.  Why he moved away from this and went back to MG i'll never understand.  I am not going to use him again. He was super reliable but not very nice (gruff in his email responses).

I'm surprised any of you got the online components of these sites to send any money to anywhere in the first place. I've not once got WU or MG to send money to someone, even family members bearing my name inside the same country, not even once. Always gets canceled and they seem to assume everyone is scamming me so my accounts get "locked for my protection." When I tried making new ones I got told not to use their service for my transaction(s).

Now, I just walk into random walmarts and send tons of money with moneygram and they couldn't give less of a damn if they tried.

"Recipient's name is Phillipino M. O. Bride?"

Yeah

"Okay here's your circled number, NEXT"

Just don't get too complacent and still don't send more than you can afford to lose. Many of us used mg for years with no issues, then one day found out the transaction was blocked and we were banned from mg because "they were not comfortable with this transaction." This doesn't happen with the clerk at the desk at the walmart - they don't care. It happens when you send to a reciever that has been put into the red flag list that day/week.

My two cents worth (and you get it for free! /default_wink.png ) is reliable but short and gruff is better than super friendly but not reliable. You're not looking for a friend. /default_wink.png

Sciatic is right. Don't get too complacent. I can't count the number of times I used MG and always in person. Then one day out of nowhere I get the "not comfortable, etc." and it was over.

That is terrible, I am so sorry to hear that! The problem with "finding a new vendor" is, I know we all know, that generally all vendors from a certain region all take the same payment method. and it seems MG neither forgets, nor forgives, once they are "uncomfortable." It wouldn't be an issue if that area wasn't the only way to get certain products.

Also I agree, they will need to find a new/additional payment method. It seems that the blocking and banning of payments shipped through MG (andWU) is steadily increasing, and that will throw a major wrench in their system.

Never had it happen. Does the clerk tell you they won't send it or does moneygram call you up after you've already paid and got the reference #? I pay cash only, so I'd figure it would have to be the clerk to tell me no at which point I'd take my money and walk over to the WU across the street.

Deperson, my experience, and from what I've read on here, the experience of most of the other members who have had this happen, is that MG (and WU too I think) makes you go through the whole transaction before they tell you. In fact it looks like it goes through and everything is fine. I didn't find out until my vendor told me he couldn't pick up the funds.

Then you have to go through the formal process of getting a refund (if you can get one). Mine involved a phone call even though I had done the transaction in person. I agree with the others - this is getting to be one of the biggest problems in the business model.
