Absolutely. Had this several times with several professional vendors over the years.
Even when it was as a complete, costly order that got sent out twice by accident, they they turned down my offer to pay for the extra and were rather thankful for having a loyal customer who's informing them that something went wrong rather than being mad about the lost money.

I've been using delta chat that's really end to end encrypted!! What's app seems like they're secure until the owners just randomly decide to sell the company cuz aren't they publicity traded stock now? I might be wrong I can't remember exactly
 
Can never be to careful. Pgp verification solves many of these issues however the buyer must be willing take time out of their day to learn local encryption.
 
I’m curious, did anyone else get a random DM from a well known vendor on here asking for their email address?

This was on or around NYE. I sent one of my proton addresses to them, then asked why they needed it. Ive got no response even after trying to follow up.

Seeing all these phishing posts, I’m wondering if this is a coincidence or if others also received something similar?

I should also note that I’ve never personally done business with this vendor, so there’d be no reason they’d need to get in contact with me there.

I did. I said I’d send them an email(in case it was a phishing scam) as I had subscribed to them before. DM me for more details

Tutanota should be fine. Just know that I don’t think you can have emails set to delete after a set period of time like you can with proton. For anything containing sensitive information, encrypt it in pgp or use a self-destructing note such as privnote/hushnote.io/temp.pm

See if any of you can correlate the wallet address to a member or vendor. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist. Hacker receives with bc1q9e4sm9mzeg9xa97fp6ylggxmd026mljfjdvqk8 and transfers to 3G7aaUnLtfkNAXHdC5nu5cAHVzmQPG7eAX. The last address is what you want to focus on. That’s where your money went.

Go to blockchain and search for:

3G7aaUnLtfkNAXHdC5nu5cAHVzmQPG7eAX

Hackers got more than 3.4 million in their wallet now….

I’ve know ppl to kill for a lot less….

I agree, in a perfect world everyone would use pgp instead. But that’s not how 90%+ operate atm.

If worried about fraudulent url links, and you can’t see the full url by hovering over it with your mouse, then you can always copy the content after the backslash at the end of the provided URL and then manually paste it into your browser after typing in the main domain.

For example someone sends a link “temp.pm/abcdef123!” , highlight and copy /abcdef123! , then type in temp.pm into your browser, and paste the rest of the url contents after.

This at least lets you circumvent having to physically click the link provided.

Edit: I should add, to your original point - if you don’t recognize a domain name, then agreed, do not click it.
