Dbg requires 20 posts in order to have pm privileges. Lots of thingz count as post like replies to other mebers, sending a shout in the shoutbox and starting a topic and replying your responses from others.

 
Not sure where I can even post this question and can't PM anyone yet (Silver Shadow). I saw mention of a particular vendor as it related to the TOP10. Well I see that thread was short and then closed. But I did give them a try and so far things are seeming to go well and great communication. I am not sure if there is an appropriate place to post info on them. I am even afraid to mention them as I am not 100% versed in the rules yet. But I am sure there is enough information here to figure it out. - Thank you

Hi Jason and welcome to DBG! Is this vendor in the BL section?

. I'm reading your sentence that includes "so far" as in you have ordered but not received. That's the way it is really supposed to be done in all threads. Probably best not to post any transaction until you have actually received the product. I know you will see lots of "got my TN and expect delivery tomorrow" but technically (and practically) that's not the way we are supposed to post. So, maybe by the time you receive you will have enough posts to PM Catinthehat (our Mod) and ask about this particular vendor.

This probably didn't help too much but I'm sure there is a good reason a thread was closed or a vendor isn't on forum and/or blacklisted. Also, there are probably good vendors out there that aren't on forum so please be sure and ask Cat when you can PM. Good luck!

 
Actually that DID help as far as the posting process. And yes I have seen the posts that are "Got TN, waiting" and I find them annoying. To quote Tommy Boy "I can shit in a box and write guarenteed on it ...." Anyway, No this one is not in the Blacklist as best I can tell. But the question was asking if they were "affiliated" with another site that IS in the Top10. I believe THAT is why that particular thread was closed.

As I am waiting 10-14 before receipt I trust I will be able to PM by that point to verify this particular kind of post. As I assume if they are not Top 10 , and they are NOT blacklist, there is probably a place for them to be posted and I assume the kind of imformation others would want. I did see someone else posted on the particular thread I mention "I will wait for more feedback before trying them" , but search turns up nothing else ..... so Maybe I am the First Guinea pig /default_smile.png But this test is nothing compared to what I got ripped off that brought me to this site in the first place /default_smile.png

Yeah I was kind of wondering about that. Doesn't a closed or locked vendor usually mean we're not supposed to order from them or does it just mean don't talk about it if you do? I would be very leary about ordering from someone on a locked thread. Can you please clarify that here cat? Thanks a bunches.

You are exactly correct. The reasons can vary greatly, but the bottom line is, it was closed for a reason. I may or may not be able to clarify as to why, it depends on when it was closed. Normally bad vendors ar put in the BL, BUT some, for instance, are closed because of, say, they have been known to obtain their meds from Pakistan.....etc. Admin knows a TON of info about the vending world and I respect his opinion immensely. We are not always able to give a reason...sometimes we simply do not remember. Big forum.

 
Oh and you are always welcome to order from wherever you like......that is your business and your decision. Sometimes you just cannot talk about it here.

 
Silver, this is a fantastic thread and I see that a lot of newbs have gleaned info from it. Thank you.

I do want to add something about vetting new vendors. I had a discussion with Geocat (thanks brother) and he suggested that we post how to vet a new vendor.

1) all new vendors MUST go through Admin.

2) Admin may not approve all vendors, even if they are vetted.

3) proper vetting can/must include, several successful orders placed by trusted membes of the forum, really good reviews on another trusted forum and approval by Admin.

We are much more careful about posting new vendors than other forums. So, these are the steps. Any questions, feel free to contact me, no matter how small the question.

Why are you so interested to bring up a vendor from a closed thread.

We are however still in the vendor start-up phase of our site and will not able to handle the volumes of orders that could come our way from your 13.000 members. So it would probably be prudent for us not to be listed on your forum yet - I hope you understand? If our ordering system is overwhelmed by too many orders then that could damage our reputation and that is something we are trying to avoid.

Thank you Admin for stating the reason as to the closed thread, and I do understand. I was satisfied with the other answers I read however. I will say that your post does make me feel a lot better though on the choice I made. Thank you again.
