NotMe: not doubting you for a second on the US Customs > LE handoff, but would be real interested in the source for my own edification.

FWIW, no LL's for me since 2008 despite many, many orders since. Was always the same 2 vendore whose packaging was less than ideal. NE US Metro area.

OK, what companies like TT do is get a preauthorization code from account for payment amount - then

TT shreds your card number almost immediately & just  keeps preauth code to use in receiving their payment.....whenever.

I just wanted to ensure my # not available to be misused by anyone and that TT gets their payment.

I don't have any fears of TT doing anything fraudulent.  I think they are awesome - their product and customer service.

My only complaint would be no tracking # - but if it' safer for them (or me), I'll live with it.

(Better than paying another vendor, as I did yesterday, for 2 Day Delivery - but it's going to arrive in 6 days instead, I'm now told - yet keeping my 2 Day Delivery money -  That's BULLSHIT - especially when told by shipping company if mailed today by 2 pm I should get it Friday)

TT comes through yet again, perfect 8/8 with orders with TTMO, just wondering if I'm pushing my luck by continuing to make orders or are the odds going to catch up to me and have something siezed at some point?  I have no idea what the percentage of seizures are.  But I'm 100% with this vendor, the only legit one I've ever ordered from.  I have everything I need, I'm just "stockpiling up" at this point in case TTM doesn't last...

For CC purchases, the pending authorization reserves that amount in your CC account. That amount is unusable by you until the charge is settled.

Then it shows up as a purchase once the mdse is shipped.

At that point it becomes a 'purchase' and the auth falls off.

Depending on the merchant setup, they may simply submit the auth # to their CC processor & no longer be in possession of your charge card details.

At least this is my recollection from when I could work & programmed a CC system for a retail chain that formerly only tendered cash, checks & their private label card. Brought them into the 1990's....

Feel free to correct where/if I''m mistaken.

Thanks for the reply. So do you think they only forward things to the local LE if they are higher scheduled items? Or above a certain quantity of lower schedule items?

 
Yes, but the financial part didn't work that way this time in my case -

preauth appeared 27th (order mailed that day also according to TT) and my available balance showed deduction of preauth.  As usual.

Now the preauth is gone - my available balance has returned to the prior amount before preauth was there. TT hasn't charged me.

Not usually what I've seen - but my experience is limited.

HOWEVER, I can access the funds that are supposed to be 'on hold' for TT. 

I'm honest and will make sure it's there whenever they want it.

Not everyone is that honest.  For TT's sake, I hope they don't set themselves up for a rip-off by taking too long to charge accounts when they've shipped products.

Interesting this happened to us both on same timeframe.  I did contact TT over the weekend, and (surprisingly) got a reply on Sunday that the order was shipped same day as purchased, and explaining that the original cc auth does drop off and will reappear due to currency conversion.  However, I have dealt with other IOP and seen this happen, but a week is long IMHO.  So I am concerned somewhat that the order somehow really didn't ship, but don't want to ruffle feathers.....LOL.  I guess just wait and see if 1. the charge reappears on my bank statement or 2. the order arrives???  Oh yes, one more thing, I did call my bank over the weekend and they stated "the merchant never picked up the payment."  I relayed that to TT in an e-mail and they gave me the above info.  So keep me posted if you get anything new from them, would you please?

Ah man. I just ordered from this outfit for the first time.

Loved quality, speed, and packaging.

I just reloaded my CC to buy from them tonight, but I'm getting bad vibes.

May hafta hold off until things are smoother.

 
Don't get discouraged. It was a very upbeat thread until people began talking LE and now there are a few financial quirks that will work out. I love TT.

Here's an exerpt of personalized email TT just sent me:

  The way that international transactions work is that a provisional 
amount is debited to your account at the exchange rate when your bank 
authorizes the transaction. This falls away when settlement between 
banks takes place and your account is then debited with the actual 
amount at the prevailing exchange rate.

Their site is up, functioning, customer service is promptly responding to customer emails, I was given personal info about my own order as well.  Others that purchased couple days ahead of me have reported they received their order.  If waiting makes you feel better, then wait.  This is a chancy business.  Ever gamble or play the horses?  LOL  I'll post as soon as I see it on account or receive.

But know that my daughter-in-law works in a bank, told me TT is rated "low risk" in the international bank ranking. 

I've read entire thread more than once and no one has ever posted getting ripped off.  This is top notch.

"Knocks" on the door you can worry about forever.

If you've ever done anything, and they want you, they will have you - for breakfast (as in about 3-4 am probably).

Nothing seems weird except it's taking a while to deduct the money from my account

(probably waiting on exchange rate to be in their favor. Just kidding.)

But if you have bad feeling, not from site - but overall have a bad feeling, sometimes you can feel it around you like it's looming over you, or on your skin,  in your stomach or even taste it (metallic taste)  then don't do it.   Trust your instincts.

(unless you've been up, like, four days wired like a 100 watt bulb or something - then, just go to sleep!!!)

@johnnog thats correct to the T about the uk i still get caught with hash today at times and usually wont carry more than a Q n that just gets taken off me and get told to disappear and invernesss does have a problem with benzo the now which was my order.

It's ok.  I do freak out sometimes - like recently when I saw my cat and young grandson intently looking thru shades out the window at something. 

When I cked on them, they were watching the couple next door going at it on their couch - you could see everything..........  /default_ohmy.png

(Now I know why my cat looks out that window so much   LOL) 

Not so happy about grandson seeing it though..........he's a fairly innocent kid (or was....?)

Something highly unusuall The packet was open and not closed again so its a miracle the stuff didnt just fall out.

And an other thing I dont gonna say directly, is someone has tampered with the inside. But the pills were sealed.

Anyone else ever seen this?
