Moneygram Troubles!

I posted this in my vendor thread. Are my MG days over /default_sad.png? Over made like 6-7 transactions over 3-4 months.

Guys I'm having my first ever issues with MoneyGram. After about 6 or 7 non eventful MG transactions, R said they weren't able to pickup my transaction from early this week. I called MG and they said that the receiver just needs to go to the pickup location and have the agent call MG to complete the transaction. When I told R that he responded that when MG says that they are not able to pickup.

So then I went through the hassle of canceling my transaction, get a refund, and send a new transaction to R using his new info.

Then I get another email from R saying they are having issues with this transaction saying that MG said the money wasn't there yet or that the reference was invalid.

Arghhh. What's going on?? Anyone else have a similar problem? I placed this order so early in the week so I would get it by Friday.

If the cartels that supply these drugs start running out of customers.....they will figure something out. They need the customers.

So very very true. The #1 business challenge they need to tackle is payment methods. I don't know why they don't set up a domestic payment system. That way you could either have interstate money transfers or CIM.

Does "waiting on Senders Money" mean you will not be paid?? I have been waiting on a WU payment for almost 2 weeks now.

Newt - whatever happened with your order? I just got an email from R saying the reference was invalid. MG had emailed me Weds saying all was approved and provided me the reference. I forwarded R the actual emails from MG. My hope was to have my order tom (Friday) or worst case Sat. I paid for o/n. Now what? Any suggestions?

I am really starting to hate MG! I never used to have problems, but this is the third time in a row that I have to go back and fix whatever the hell is wrong this time. Last time was the clerk typing the wrong name on the wrong line. I have never used it online because of the bank hassles I read about but making 2 trips everytime is a hassle too. Bitcoins are looking better and better.

I know it's a bit of work to get started but if the transactions are smooth thereafter, it might be worth the effort.

It makes me nervous as hell having to go back and "fix" things as they are always on the phone a long time while I sweat it out.

So I just saw this MG tread and do you think it would be wise to stick with just one vender if your going to use MG? So that it dosn't look suspicious while im giving hispanic names and always out of mexico?

Well, this issue is that all the vendors are constantly chainging their receivers so it doesn't really matter. Ultimately, you're going to have a paper trail of multiple transactions to different names down south. It's one of the major downsides of WU/MG.

I had to cancel my MG order and redo it using a different receiver and it worked. But a giant PIA! I think R from SY gave a bad receiver that week and I wasn't the only one that had problems.
I have since made another order without a hitch.

I've been placing an order on average of once every 3 weeks. I feel like at some point MG will shut me off. I hope I'm wrong.

Yep thats what they did to me. Was cancel my last order with mg. So I jad to call em back and they pretty much interrogated me. Asking me personal information about myself and the reciever. Like how i know them and what i was buying. Pissed me off.And this was my 2nd time ever using a mg.

hokey pokey, if MG asks again why you're send money say it's for a friend or relative or it's from your church group donating money to help needy families. That's what I used once and it worked. Or make up your own.

Well this time it was my fault! I had somehow avoided receivers with 4 names til now.

Never use the "middle name" line on the form. If there are 2 first names, put them both on the first line "first name".

If there are 2 last names you can put them in the order given on the last 2 lines or you can put them both (in the order given) on the last line.

Hopefully this will help some other poor fool like myself from having to make a trip back to correct your mistake.

HB they got me so stressed out. Today was my third time with moneygram and the cashier asked me if I was paying a bill. .... so I choked up and said yes. She gave me a stern look. I like the whole church donation thing. Will definitely do that from now on.

Has anybody had MG cut them off and try again 6 or 8 months later and have it work?

Thanks,

mbs

I have used mg a while back under an old phone number and when I went to use it the other day same name he said I wasn't in the system. I used It years ago so I don't know how long it stay in there system. It can't only use your name since so many people have the same name. It has to link you through address or phone number also. So if you try it I would use a old address and burner phone. Let use know how it goes as strict as they r getting we r all bound to run into this problem.

Where you doing it online line or in person? Online sucks!!!!

I have not had one moneygram order go thru with out some kind of problem. It has been everything blocked receivers or one letter not correct on receivers name to the clerks at store not knowing what they are doing or having to call the manager down to assist. With the blocked receivers you have to call MG with your reason you want to cancel and then get your refund and try again with a different receivers name which does not look good when you are trying to not be noticed. The MG order I just did went smooth this time I thought until I got a e-mail from vender saying money was not available for pick up per MG. Luck this time it was just a glitch and money was able to picked up next day with out me having to call money gram on the red phone to clear up. Hopefully my next transaction will be smooth without any issue.

In the UK MG IMO is best used at a post office preferably not a franchised one however in saying that

the Asian post office franchises know there stuff and never ask questions as they know its good business

not to.

My local PO is a place where everyone knows everyone well kind of. So anytime I use MG or send strange

parcels no questions are brought up......makes me realise my town is like deadwood....lol

Been a very sad few days but 2 complete (irl anyway) strangers cared enough about what I was going through to talk to me about it, though they owe me nothing and have no reason to help my personal pain other than the kindness in their own hearts. Just shows that this place is a real community, not just a forum of people who only care about themselves.
