I turned on the TV and was flipping past the sports channels and found a Crossfit Games that's like an women's sports/events competition I guess they go from event to event in a big bunch competing against each other.

I was watching it as a group of about 15 women ran to the second obstacle in the course which were weights to lift over their heads....

The announcer said "..it's going to be tough to see fifteen fresh snatches in this group..."

Yep.

If you can find it and post it that would be great! I was watching on a non DVR tv and couldnt rewind to see again what I thought I just heard /default_smile.png.

The announcers didn't miss a beat. Of course I know it's a legit term but it's so funny.

 
I recently saw that ABC's morning news show won an Edward R Murrow award for outstanding journalism or something like that.

That ABC morning show, not news but morning show, that looks like it takes place in a F'ing easter baskett with all the bright pastell colors and the stupid overly happy idiots that now only seem to show You Tube clips and ask you to tweet them news, because they sure cant find it, all led by a drugged up old lady who sounds condensing just pisses me off. They had the sesame street characters on awhile back and the sesame street characters seemd more professional!

That this show won an award for best reporting makes me sick and realize how fucked up America really is. I hear a lot of people actually like that show with its pandering and lack of news content and how the old drugged up lady makes them feel good by how she talks to people like she's talking to a child. Bunch of stupid simple minded idiots in my opinion.

And the other news shows are not much better, they all lack real news and they all run the same story's every day at practically the same time, it's easy for Joe Lunchhpail and Sally Salmon to know what to think when all news shows are synced up and they show mostly you tube and talk about twitter and social media and imply all should become twits too.

For the many years this has been a pet peeve of mine, and since 2000 I am shocked to see how far down things have progressed as far as reporting or even looking into any real or important issues. News now all seems to be to get people to be focused and outraged on things that should be fixed easily but are not, and no reporters even ask relevant questions for fear of not being invited back for another interview or not getting the idiot guest on the show again.

Grrr.

I know what you mean. I myself refuse to watch the news anymore, or any network "today" shows, except for an occasional bout on CNN, because it is so ridiculous. It is like crime,crime, crime and then stupid happy story....over and over. I can hear them in editing. "We have to wind up with a happy story". It is all about marketing, and making those who watch feel as if they are "up" on current matters and human enough to appreciate a "do-gooder" story. If by "condensing" you meant condescending, i could not agree more. The media is simply reporting the "juiciest" stuff and looking for ratings. It is not about reporting the most important facts at all. The media skews the view on every single thing that they report. And most of America watches and listens and reacts just like they are supposed to. To get a feeling of connection between them and the world. To trust the news, and to believe the commercials, and buy the products. That may seem indirect but that is all it is really about. I feel the same way about the presidency. It has always been about the most interesting, the better looking, the most enthusiastic, and who is charming; NOT about who the best person in charge of taking care of our country. The world can be an empty shell. I am embarrassed to be a part of it sometimes.

 
LET THE FIRST PERSON WHO HAS NEVER FUCKED UP IN THEIR LIFE,  BE THE ONE TO JUDGE OTHERS WHEN THEY FUCK UP,  AND ALSO THE ONE TO OPPRESS WITH "INDEFINITE" SENTENCES THAT ARE OVERLY HARSH FOR THE "CRIME" AT HAND.

IF YOU DON'T EVER WANT ANOTHER CHANCE,  DON'T GIVE SOMEONE ELSE ANOTHER CHANCE.

How come there are near 6000 members and barely any posts...? It's to the point where you can learn who is reliable and not in a day or two of good reading! Which is a good thing, don't get me wrong but it sucks that it takes usually a little time for a response, if you get one at all! Also sometimes "those" people don't have the answers, or anybody for that matter!

Don't be shy people, post if you got an answer or comment /default_blink.png  Keeping it logical and on topic of course that is!

I would love to give a shout out to my boyfriend, whom i call Otter. Single dad of five awesome kids, and the best father i have ever seen, except my own, of course. The hardships he has overcome i am sure seemed insurmountable to him, but he just kept going and going. His kids respect him so much and love him dearly. He put himself out there for them nonstop and he makes it look easy. He is putting two through college right now and does not blink an eye when it is time to pay tuition. He is sleeping peacefully next to me and he looks like an angel but i know he is tough as steel. He makes me feel safe, and that is quite some feat. I am so lucky to have him. He is the sweetest man i have ever met.
