Tramadol

Phrenciz where do I start to look.. old PR guy here and havent done the online thing in a while but my doc decided scheduling of tram waranted a sudden and cold cessation on my refills. 

Im stockpilled and tappering off thank god I didnt count on my dock to tapper.

I already went through this twice. and I have to say. I have never had any kind of addiction problems or anything but wow trmadol is such a double eged sword for me. I decided despite the horrible WD I would continue with  it because of my higher quality of life. No pain, I can sleep and my least expected side effective, lowered aspergers sypmtoms. I actually have freinds now!

Yea I think the serotonin play makes this drug more of a anti depresant and withdrawl is no joke. ITs not even the initial opiate like WD thats bad.. thats no prob for me now I force myself to sleep through that... 

Its the months of not feeling happy that really starts to get at you. I think it took me like 3 months to smile and 6 months to feel fully normal again.. With awesome spatz of irrational anxiety.

Despite this I think I would like to pursue refills. I actually havent been in to see my doctor face to face. Anxiety too high.. Im just going off past experience and what a nurse there told me after she saw the med... "hes not prescribing this medication now that its sccheduled".. I feel like if I level with the guy he would give me a couple months to ween off...

I dont know,,,,,,,, maybe save my money and try finding someone else.. how do I find a doctor? just call them and say "Hey do you prescribe bla bla..." Im sure thats an instant red flag.

Random question.... Has anyone ever given IOP bought Tramadol to their dogs?  I have more Trams on hand than I could ever use, and my elderly dog has hip dysplasia and could really use some help.  My vet used to give her Trams (50mg TID) but refuses to dispense them now that they are controlled. I worry that there might be some hidden ingredient in imported Trams (Tindol brand) that might cause a reaction.  She is allergic to everything.  Isn't it sad that I worry more about my animals than I do myself?

That is disgusting that he didn't let you taper. Withdrawing from any SSRI is hell enough without adding in the opiate factor.   I hate doctors.  Sorry you had to go through that.

 
Does anyone have problems with itching due to tram? Or is this just a case by case thing depending on the person?

Yes, however you are right some people feel the itching problem more then others( as with any opioid) and I am one of them as well!

When I was on them I did have a LOT of itching. Especially returning from a tolerance reset taper.

For me the itching has been bad. Since the new regulations, my Dr. had to start messing with my regular medication dosage (I've had chronic pain issues for years). Less "break through" pain meds and more slow release meds which don't do anything for me, so I tried tram. I'm not sure if its the combo or if it just does not agree with me.

Hmmm. Was it itching in certain areas, or all over. Mine seems to migrate around. Legs for a few days, then they don't itch and it will be my back, and so on. Its weird.

 
I have itchy eyes.. Or extra blinking. Usually if I am near my threshold. Hasn't been as much a issue since my/the cut back. I do think feet itching existed. I look back now and marvel at what I was taking compared to now.

Old days a 180 ct bottle in a month. Now I am lucky to figure out half that. Or less.

Not saying I wouldn't turn down anything I could source and afford. But this is my new normal.

Cigeratte smoking is what I craved when on constant tram.

I used to scratch in my sleep too. Particularly around my ankles.....until there was no skin left. God i am gLad to be off of that crap. I almost lost my friggin mind when i quit.

 
Some of the mental withdraw has vanished. Forced continuos taper has left me in pain ofcourse.

 
My buddy gave a big bottle of trams, so I've been popping a couple 50's a day, and haven't noticed  any itching. Maybe I'm not taking enough??

My thighs are where it starts?!.. And I don't really stop until I draw blood?! Yet, it still feels good to scratch?!

Many a day, I wake up looking like I've fallen into a rose bush?! Fucking scratches all over my face, back, legs?!.. Granted, it's nothing compared to the codein3 or DHC itch, but it's there!..

If your intake goes up, I'd suggest a good stash of antihistamines YB?!.. Preferably hydroxyzine ; )

I've been good with a couple 50mg's a day, that my buddy dropped off a couple months ago...He just called again tonight, and said he just refilled his script again, and has two more refills left...I just throw him a few nugs of green bud, and he drops off a big bottle of 180 pills..I like them, and they give me energy in the morning, but I don't have a desire to take a bunch, and don't think I'll ever get to the point where I'm hooked..(famous last words.. /default_unsure.png )

 
Yea that's what's nice about it, every time I take a bunch of them in one day then I don't want to for a long time, unlike other PK's. Still keep's making my PK tolerance go up though.

Try to stick to that. Even at 2a day you're getting the cumulative ssri effect. I've had nasty times even when I was in the 2-4 a day range and going cold. I have such a love/hate relationship with tram.

 
Yeah YB.......be careful! You know the HELL I went through! Just two can do a lot of damage. I would stop for a day or two to see what happens.....some people feel absolutely no wd at all. I am not sure, but I think all of those people have normal levels of seratonin and dopamine and Epinephrine. Just a guess, but after talking to many people, that is how it seems to me anyway.

Uh, throw a couple of green nugs my way please! Lol! I cant afford to order it online, cept my every six weeks order from mm for the edibles.

I thought I was out, but yesterday, in my camisole drawer, I found four of them. That is where I hide them but i thought i was out of them for two weeks now! Happy dance! Yay!

I was one of those people that didn't have bad w/d from them. I was taking 8 at a time, four times a day. I was off and on them for a few years. Whenever I stopped, I just stopped. I did crave them and was very addicted when I had them but for some reason I didn't get the w/d's. I went through hell getting off vikes and subs. It's weird that trams were different. I'm grateful though because one of the times I quit, I was pregnant.

  20. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
