Was waiting on an item I wanted from Alex.  He told me he had been down with illness and did have normal chit chat, but I don't often do too much of that.  He contacted me Wed said he had what I needed and delivery followed less than 24 hours later.  

There was one situation that was very odd and made me concerned, but I don't feel comfortable posting.  Happy to explain in PM @2earls.  I can't PM just yet.

 
I have heard back from A, he said he's been very bad sick since the 19th with the flu. Thought he had h1n1. I'm assuming he's been in the hospital, he said he just wants to go home. But he said he will send my order out today with extras. I'll post later with updates. I'm on my phone, Idunno why it's quoting someone lol.

My review is a couple weeks old. I'm usually punctual but had an emergency situation happen with family just after my last order from A.

Ordered trams and purple footballs 2/15 for two day delivery.

Received footballs NEXT DAY :) 2/16

Received trams 2/17

Perfect transaction. It was the same Alex, used the same phrases/chitchat as in previous emails.

 
Contacted A @ new edress (thx 2E!) Re stock & whatnot 2/14.

Sudden household drama explosion 2/15-2/18; consequently Not Thing One accomplished.

Placed order - generic Ritas - sent $ - Fri 2/19, Paid for Overnight.

Receipt acknowledged  SUNDAY 2/21!!!  when does he sleep?

Mon 2/22 -No Action

 Inquired on Tues 2/23 as to status of order (as per the transaction protocols I use w/A,a day or two delay is normal.) A replied he'd held the order so he could send me Brand Name product, at no extra charge.

Received  TN Wed evn 2/24.

Delivery 9:03 AM Thu 2/25.  Barely Had pants on to answer door in time. 

Typical transaction deets for The A.  Except for the early delivery/pants issues, which are in no way under A's control, of course.

Brand as promised, ***** quality.  Happy customer:I am once more able to be a Productive Member of Society.

Notice I said "able", which "participating".

That's my story aNd I'm sticking to it.

I ended up replying to his offer to send the #20 short with my next order. Basiclally, I asked him to reconsider based on the amount of the short, my ordering history with him and etc. I recieved a reply within minutes, a tracking number later that night and recieved the rest of my order w/ the extras this morning.

This interaction with Alex was good / the same as it has always been. I am so relieved.

 Just thought I'd add something that has changed recently with A. He was the only SY vendor I knew of that would take a half order for something. When I ordered two weeks ago, I did a full order of tramps and half of purple footballs. I'm running a litttle short on $$ right now, so I asked for just a half order of footballs yesterday to replace some I shared with a family member. I thought all was ok because I'd done this before. I received a reply that he's not doing half orders. I don't know if that's a temporary or permanent thing. Maybe it's too small an order and he's really slammed right now. He was really flexible in the past. Just thought I'd share for others who might be planning on placing a half order. That aside, I've always had great ordering experiences with A and plan to order again.

Currently still waiting.... He says he is out of stock of purple f balls. And wit have them till end of the week MAYBE. So at the minimum it will be next week. This is not a good situation. I hope he does good on his end and eventually sends. But it's going on couple weeks now. I got another order with another vendor in process right now. Hoping that will go through until A can fix this mess. 

 
I order about twice a month. Have for since last Dec 2014. Last order was placed 2/16 late.  Made transaction early 2/17. Received tn late on 2/17 and received early 2/18. Got some purple footballs and a dozen rock climbing gear.  Worries me about change of attitude.  Everything with Alex has been the same with me. The usual banter. We have had quite a few conversations over the past year (sickness in our families, kids, and my visit to Mexico)   Just looked back and he gave me his "new email for VIP customers" back at the first of July last year. I have used the new email since my first order on 7/8/15.  About to place another next week. I haven't posted in awhile but sure do hope that Alex isn't just flat wearing out.  Will update.  Thanks for all your information.  dcboots.

 
It could be that he was really sick with the flu and had someone filling in temporarily. Just throwing another theory out there.
I'm inclined to agree with you. For a few days there, responses were short and not in typical A fashion, but our conversations are now back to where they were. Although the gear I need isn't available, I still took the time to check on A and we picked right back up with our last conversation as always.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound like my good bud A. I've had similar situations and it's never been a issue, even to include the most recent one from this week that I'm going to update you guys and gals on after this post. IMO it wasn't even a half order this go round, but he made it happen for me and I'm grateful! I guess it's possible that since the change over to more private that some people may get precedence over others/more leeway??? Just a guess. Anyhow, here's my update.

3/7 donation sent and tn same night

3/9 all the Substitutes arrived perfectly and ready to go!

 
Once again, I haven't posted in a little but have made several orders since.  For this I apologize because I know how much it matters to have current reviews.  So here is the info for yesterday-

The vikings were of the same type as mentioned previously, but had been receving those the past 3 orders so they are good.  Just know they are not staying at the W, so some people might not like them as much since the hotel isn't as nice.

Rock scaling gear of mixed variety, some I am used to but the others are new so I can't say yet but will update. Based on questions regarding half orders, I asked him about whether this was his current policy.  He said for the time being he would do half on things in the same family as the vikings and rock climbing gear.  However, he wasn't doing this with things related to his benz. Not sure if this is a permanent policy.  I hope this made sense and helps some people :)

This is interesting to me because I have a similar timeframe with him, although My ordering pattern flucuates depending on brand of stock w/ him.  I got the new email at the beginning of the year I think.  Definitely not over the summer.  There was an odd hiccup on his end right after this and he sent anyway, which is like him, but the situation had me thinking for sure. Since then every order is perfect, less than 24 hour turn around.  I can't ask for more than that and I am thankful!  But...my thoughts linger every few emails or so to the difference in mannerism.  Old Alex?  New?  As long as I get that service I guess it doesn't matter!  Ha ha!?

 
3/10 ordered m'dones and rockettes. Immediately notified Rockies out of stock, sent m'dones anyway cause I really needed them (received today) and he will send the rest when restocked.  Alex is my hero.

 
Received rest of order today and was missing a rock.  Responses always seem to be so slow to these types of issues
