Dude, I got that exact one saying they lost my address, from cz. No idea how they could have gotten that email addy

They harvested them from whoever accidentally gave up their proton credentials. That gave them access to contact lists associated w the site, so now these emails are quite literally a "common cold" virus exclusive to dbg.

They were probably also able to glean enough info to send the fake vendor emails going around. Several members have been scammed by impostors.

Instead of having to figure out how to use apps, though usually available by default on most phones/PCs, to search for differences in texts, you can copy-paste text into this site and it accurately points out any differences.

Can never be to careful. Pgp verification solves many of these issues however the buyer must be willing take time out of their day to learn local encryption.

I was fuckin around on the Darkweb the other day an came across a service offering to hack anyones proton email for a price.

If proton was an issue before it most certainly is now.

Can never be too proactive to make sure the way you move online is private as possible and you info secure.

I’ve been researching in the Privacy +Security OPSEC area over 10 years and there’s always more to learn!

I was going to mention for people using the DW to put Tails on a USB and everything you need is basically on there! No need to put all that on your OS when TailOs comes loaded.

1 suggestion I’d make is to add FeatherWallet (Monero) wallet. If you haven’t, yet.

XMR is and has been the main crypto choice to be used for awhile now . I don’t mean just for sketchy purposes though, Privacy is a right! We should be able to use daily! Many regular stores around the world are adopting Monero. It’s cheap to send and fast.

Unlike BTC unless bought through a non KYC Method , if someone really wanted, with little effort could trace your BTC tx being sent, the amount, to what address. There’s been cases of criminals finding exactly how much a person holds in a BTC wallet. Break in hold the person /family hostage tortured them in a few cases til they got the owner to transfer the funds. It’s crazy. Just in past 3 years it’s happened more. Definitely worth looking up.

Dont get me wrong I don’t have anything against BTC, It’s just not the coin it was back in its early days where you didn’t need an ID etc to buy.

Monero is the safest way to move.
(especially on Marketplaces)

Last tip- Keep your coins in a wallet you have full control over. Public and private keys. Whether it’s a self custodial App or a Hardware wallet . Don’t mean to kinda ramble on but it’s info that’s important to know.

cant thank you enough for the time spent sharing the knowledge, truly priceless and yea my experience with Tails and getting advice from those i highly respect told me to try that first and formost if unable then other options, the tricky part I found with tails and it wasnt a big deal was installing can be a bit techy but not really I was completely able to do first attempt no problems, however as you know once booted no keyboard, no mouse, no wifi...etc so no big deal did a 5 min search on what wired acc. to get and I am good to go up and running and love the conmfort of knowing I am finally truly covered. The crypto thing I have been wondering about and you just solidified several points I believed. I currently us a self custody wallet and lookin to grab a cold wallet once I fully appreciate the IT behind it all. Thanks again buddy have a great one
