Jewy's Angels - A Place For Classy Dames

How are we supposed to discuss "shaping underwear" if boys sre here? Hm?
I just found time to read through these posts. Thank you founding "angel(s)" for starting it. I needed a smile, even a laugh...99's popcorn emoticon made me chuckle".

I look forward to contributing when I find some inspiration (e.g., feel like I have something worthwhile to post/add).

Peace out

Ms. Beranda...I'm glad your path seems to have worked!  Not a pleasant thing to have to deal with but, certainly, part of life.  You do not need nut jobs in your life and this person sounds like a certified nut job!

Also, I had a nick-name previously but was ...a bit too revealing so I thought this one was sort of smart-ass funny???  It is kinda hard to reply to me.."hey Misery..."

HOOTER I am not using one of them fancie phones...just a regular laptop.  Any thoughts??

I liked my other handle So much better but was simply too obvious...too close to my real-life name.

And finally, Ms. B I LOVE your posts and it's so nice to have you here.  Your comments are always so well-thought-out and well-written and thoughtful.

Thank you for the help with the quotes but still won't work.  We'll see if Hootie can figure this out!  That's a challenge, my friend.

I have a question to all the classy dames here:  for those of you with children, how do you handle when your little boy starts noticing when you are using the bathroom that you have different apparatus then he does?  He tries to stick his hand under my tummy like he's trying to find my pee-pee and now he pushes my shirt up and looks at my boobs rather confused because daddy doesn't have boobs and daddy has a peepee?

I guess at what age do you "shut the door" when you use the bathroom and you have a son?

My angel is only 1 and 1/2 - just want to be the best mommy I can.

Misery, you just won the most posts in a row contest!  Former title holder, me!!  lol!!!  I would comment on the Pee pee thing but I have no children.  Nor do I want any.  Good luck!!!!

I still do this and I'm 40...so it all depends on the kid /default_smile.png

Speaking as a mom of a 3 1/2 year-old girl, I'm not certain that my experience or conduct applies to little boys or any other human being on planet earth.

Having said that, all results will vary tremendously, so far mine have been pretty good.

We have always spoken about private parts using the correct words, & as if they are just another part of the body. As soon as she started school we did have serious-ish conversations with her regarding the importance of her private areas being safe, possible scenarios, etc. for her to imagine a time where she may have to think about her own privacy.

No special language, excessive giggles, shame or avoidance of their mention.

In our house, both my husband and I, shower with my daughter when it is convenient or unless she asks for her own privacy, of course, and typically do not close doors for simple changing.

I have always been a social bathroom user, so unless I'm feeling especially private or sick, my door is open. However, if I close a door, my kid knows to let it be. Don't ask me how I managed to instill in her this exceptions of boundaries, it still surprises me.

What I will say though, is that if she asks or indicates that she would like privacy or retreats to her room, we give her the respect to do so. Oh yeah, every door in our home except master bedroom and bathrooms have clear glass pane doors, so I'm wondering if my daughter believes that "ultimate privacy" equals a clear piece of glass between her and the world...that's ok, she'll figure it out.

We have had many conversations about vaginas and penises and I tell her exactly how it is.

I understand the novelty associated with a nice set of breasts...Misery, please know it has nothing to do with the gender of your child... My daughter is obsessed with nipples and takes major offense to my reminding her that she has her own set and they are NOT located under MY shirt.

If you can stand it and of course only if you're comfortable, being honest, age appropriate, yet brief about the facts.

I have no idea how it plays out later, but my gut tells me that the more elusive and mythical a woman's body is made out to be, the more "Indiana Jones", your little adventurer will want to be.

Just one other thing: I have always had 100% respect for all parents no matter how they choose to communicate with their children, as long as they give them the respect we all deserve. The details about names and scientific specifications...that is as unique as every family. I only share one person's opinion, and frankly, where my daughter is concerned, it's the only one that matters to me. Same goes for you "Miss Miz".

You set the tone and if you're comfortable with your choices, your son will be calmed by your confidence. I find that kids are a lot like dogs, wolves, lions… they can smell a heap of bullshit a mile away. If you are not true to yourself, your son may not understand why, but he will associate your discomfort with his own confusion.

Geez, what a bossy pants, I so hope that I don't get crucified for this post.

Mis Miz, you've got this!

With respect,

B

P.S. How's the nickname?

No kids here, so I'm sorry I can't be much help other than to draw on your experience growing up and depending on how you felt that went, do something similar or different.

Thanks for all the beauty secrets and makeup hints, misery, I tried using kosher salt to exfoliate and damn, my skin is so smooth, loved the Lorac Pro mascara mentioned? Is there a confessional here? Went to sephora the other day and they had these 'miracle line removers that were over $100 to $200.00. I don't shoplift but I did take one of their half used sample bottles, so since it was a sample for everyone to use is this stealing? No need for remarks, just reading what I'm writing I know the answer, a thousand Hail Marys!

God I love confession. You can basically do whatever you want, and have it removed from your "permanent record"! Lol!

  1. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.
  2. P @ psychedpsych: Whew, long night of giving rides. How's y'all's night go? Im debating driving for 2 more rides to hit my goal, should I keep going?
  3. S @ soupson: bless your heart buddy. no sense of grammar or proper insults/jokes. you need this place in ways i can’t comprehend
  4. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: Sweet Ol' Me asked about Real ID, Stoup. Are you responsive to emails ? LMAO
  5. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: I smell some Stoup. Is Stoup's on ?
  6. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda You win. I am lost. Thought you were surprised your license was a Real ID, now you say you provided those items.
  7. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  8. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.
  9. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @Turbo259 advertising - putting in writing for example an negative action to show they are guilty prior to taking action.
  10. B @ bigblueallda: I haven't flown in an airplane in 20 years lol. Can't recall the last government building I have been in either. According to the symbol it tells me I should have on my ID to make it a Real ID I do have one in my state
  11. Gracie5 @ Gracie5: Hey @CuCeltic99!
  12. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @Turbo259 advertising - putting in writing for example an negative action to show they are guilty prior to taking action.
  13. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda are you sure you have a Real ID ? I mean , they really want 6 points of proof and 1 for your addy and 1 for your SSN. Did you maybe get it done and forgot and flew out of the country or something ?
  14. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda are you sure you have a Real ID ? I mean , they really want 6 points of proof and 1 for your addy and 1 for your SSN. Did you maybe get it done and forgot and flew out of the country or something ?
  15. S @ soupson: did anyone ask about real id or is sweet ol jimmy just rambling
  16. T @ Turbo259: @drjimmy1964 what did you mean by advertise? not gettin the verbiage, DM works if anything, just didnt understand
  17. B @ bigblueallda: {Visit your local Driver Service Bureau with the necessary documents: original birth certificate, Social Security card, and two proofs of your state's residency. } I definitely provided this when I had to get a new ID when i let mine go expired too long maybe I unknowingly got one but I think it is pretty standard here.
  18. B @ bigblueallda: Well it was a state id renewal. Before that there was a mixup and I had lost my birth certficate and social security number. After a couple of weeks and finally getting several documents in order I was able to get a state ID. It had been expired previously for a little too long and they wanted all kinds of proof. It was a mess. But nah I looked up what to look for an my state's ID to see if it is a Real Id or not and my card as the symbol it is supposed to have. I'll take a closer look though
  19. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda are you sure you have a Real ID ? I mean , they really want 6 points of proof and 1 for your addy and 1 for your SSN. Did you maybe get it done and forgot and flew out of the country or something ?
  20. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: Actually it says "Not For Real ID Purposes". That is my 2022 renewal of my 2018 picture ID. I am not due till 2026 and I am sure they will make me go in since my pic would be 8 years old - they used to make you go in in my state for aging when I was younger, then went paper - then back to picture ( I think 9/11 to blame for that ) but relaxed it.
