Kratom Discussion

Hi all, I'm new to Kratom. I have a very high opiate tolerance and I'm looking for something to take the edge off in between scripts. I went to a local head shop and purchased 15 grams of Maeng Da powder. This is what the gentlemen at the shop recommended for opiate withdrawals. The brand is Royal Kratom and it came in a vacuum sealed package. It has quite a potent smell (almost like tea) and taste.

Given my high tolerance to opiates, I was wondering if anyone had any dosing recommendations. I am also taking xanax and klonipin for anxiety and ambien for sleep. Oh, and I also take stimulant medicatino for ADHD.

Any help would be much appreciated. Honestly, I thought I'd been around the block a few times, but I had never heard of Kratom until I joined this board. I'm certainly glad it's legal and widely available in my state. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hey Mr C! Good to see you over here in kratom land! Smoke shop kratom is terrible and very overpriced. I've never had a potent strain from a smoke shop. But I have used it in a pinch when I'm desperate. Find a vendor and order some reds. Dayak's big red and super big red are really popular with users that want to prevent opie w/d. They are also the most effective for pain relief. All the reds are actually good for that but those two are the strongest. They are quite a bit more pricey than the other reds so it just depends on what you're willing to spend. I'm not sure if you have facebook but Dayak has a group and they are so helpful to people just getting started. But of course we're here to help you in any way we can!

I don't do Facebook, is there a website?

Dayak has 15% off for new customers and 20% off on Tuesdays. They're clear across the US from me and I almost always get in two days. If you order at least $40 in product, it's free 2 day priority shipping.

Hey Teal, do you find their kratom less constipating at all? Just hoping its not. But either way I'm excited to give them a shot since it sounds like they have such excellent equally Kratom.

Unfortunately no. 😟 It ALL does that to me. Roger recommended colace and Metamucil, she said that helps her a lot. I need to go buy some.

Okay sounds good. I think my poor butt is beyond the colace now. But Ima try that metameucil.

Worst side effect of kratom no doubt. Try combing the two- Colace and Metamucil. The first softens and the second gets things moving. Sorry to be so blunt but it is what it is....

Wow, now I really have a reason to be interested in kratom.  Do all types have constipation as a side effect?  I actually need that as I suffer from the opposite due to two surgeries removing bowel sections.  Can't use over the counter meds for that as that works for normal bowels only.  Of course opies help some but don't want to take that every day either... this sounds hopeful.

Does anyone know whether Kratom has any significant drug interactions. Especially with SSRI's like Lexapro?

Thanks!

It's weird but there are some people who it actually helps to be more regular. But it seems like the majority get the constipation. It would be worth a try.

I also read that it's supposed to have certain sexual benefits, unlike opiates. I'll have to report back.

this stuff is so disgusting, in my state people dont admit there addicted to kratom but i see them all day in the kava shopps spending 40-60$ on those drinks, ridiculous ,

kratom addiction is like opiate addiction
Did anyone say Kratom doesn't cause some dependence? Lol that's well documented. What's your point? Do people in your state admit they are addicted to benzo's or MJ? Or only the cool kids?
Pun intended.

Didn't your mama teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all? Why are you in this thread anyway? You sure have a lot of hate going on for this stuff. Just don't take it and worry about yourself.

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: @WTF7218 it may as well be that way with how little effort some of the people on here make to find information that's exactly where you would expect it to be.
  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.
  4. ontovzik @ ontovzik: He peed it in the snow in my backyard.
  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.
  9. C @ Cheesus: Thanks xenxra
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: @Cheesus yeah, use snote
  11. P @ psychedpsych: Trump is cracking down….
  12. P @ psychedpsych: Hackers are the scum of the earth
  13. N @ NYStateofMind: so it was easy bc of my history
  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
