you're right- i've always preferred the powders- but may need to try extracts next time. Speciosa Specialists used to be my favorite vendor back when I was enjoying kratom daily, but since they stopped taking CCs it's been a hassle to place an order in a timely manner.Have you ever tried FST? It is MUCH stronger than PL kratom and would cover opiated WD better, IMO. I've used it and developed a tolerance very quickly and actually went through some nasty WD symptoms when it became way too expensive to keep it up. I'm on PL now, reds mostly but it was a tough transition. I used Specious Specialist which has the most consistent product. Again, I do not recommend this product to anyone who is satisfied with the effects of PL but definitely for opie WD.
As an aside, I needed to read this today. I literally just asked someone ask pods. I've used kratom or a couple of years now and am completely happy with it. I use for anxiety rather than pain and it does the job for me. I don't won't to fix what's not broken and potentially like pods way more than kratom.
Herbal Cafe... My very favorite vendor!
as for pods- I discovered them 11 years ago- after I had already been on opiates for awhile. they are lovely- that's for sure- but tolerance develops fast and the WDs are worse and last longer than WD from kratom and the short-acting opioids. I have successfully tapered and gotten myself off of them & other opioids with kratom more than a few times... uncomfortably at first- but what happened is- after maybe a week or 2 of no pods or pills- the kratom started to actually make me feel good. it wasn't until after all the opiates were out of my system that i could actually feel what kratom is supposed to feel like. kratom can feel really good- and i'd rather have a kratom habit than a pod or pill habit. i'm back at square one now. pain issues flared up- so i slowly started taking pills again here and there, ordered pods for times when i didn't have pills- kratom stopped working- and a couple years of this has lead me to a high tolerance once again. (i at least have ideas in my head to plan a taper yet again- i can't afford to keep up with my tolerance)
i'm not trying to be preachy and say don't ever try the pods. they are sometimes easier to obtain than pills (and sometimes cheaper) and can be a lifesaver on bad pain days or when you run out of your usual... they should just be used very sparingly IMO. i'd love to go back to kratom (and actually be able to have the occasional 10mg of oxy work when i need it to) but i'm going to try to plan this out carefully- as it's going to be painful and i can't afford to take time off work.
my apologies if going off-topic a bit. i've been sitting here contemplating deleting this post. i don't normally get so personal on here. it is inspiring though- to read about kratom fans... it brings back memories and gives me some inspiration to cut back on the strong meds and flowers- which would make my life a lot better. /default_wink.png thanks. /default_smile.png
