Kratom Discussion

Have you ever tried FST? It is MUCH stronger than PL kratom and would cover opiated WD better, IMO. I've used it and developed a tolerance very quickly and actually went through some nasty WD symptoms when it became way too expensive to keep it up. I'm on PL now, reds mostly but it was a tough transition. I used Specious Specialist which has the most consistent product. Again, I do not recommend this product to anyone who is satisfied with the effects of PL but definitely for opie WD.

As an aside, I needed to read this today. I literally just asked someone ask pods. I've used kratom or a couple of years now and am completely happy with it. I use for anxiety rather than pain and it does the job for me. I don't won't to fix what's not broken and potentially like pods way more than kratom.

Herbal Cafe... My very favorite vendor!
you're right- i've always preferred the powders- but may need to try extracts next time. Speciosa Specialists used to be my favorite vendor back when I was enjoying kratom daily, but since they stopped taking CCs it's been a hassle to place an order in a timely manner.

as for pods- I discovered them 11 years ago- after I had already been on opiates for awhile. they are lovely- that's for sure- but tolerance develops fast and the WDs are worse and last longer than WD from kratom and the short-acting opioids. I have successfully tapered and gotten myself off of them & other opioids with kratom more than a few times... uncomfortably at first- but what happened is- after maybe a week or 2 of no pods or pills- the kratom started to actually make me feel good. it wasn't until after all the opiates were out of my system that i could actually feel what kratom is supposed to feel like. kratom can feel really good- and i'd rather have a kratom habit than a pod or pill habit. i'm back at square one now. pain issues flared up- so i slowly started taking pills again here and there, ordered pods for times when i didn't have pills- kratom stopped working- and a couple years of this has lead me to a high tolerance once again. (i at least have ideas in my head to plan a taper yet again- i can't afford to keep up with my tolerance)

i'm not trying to be preachy and say don't ever try the pods. they are sometimes easier to obtain than pills (and sometimes cheaper) and can be a lifesaver on bad pain days or when you run out of your usual... they should just be used very sparingly IMO. i'd love to go back to kratom (and actually be able to have the occasional 10mg of oxy work when i need it to) but i'm going to try to plan this out carefully- as it's going to be painful and i can't afford to take time off work.

my apologies if going off-topic a bit. i've been sitting here contemplating deleting this post. i don't normally get so personal on here. it is inspiring though- to read about kratom fans... it brings back memories and gives me some inspiration to cut back on the strong meds and flowers- which would make my life a lot better. /default_wink.png thanks. /default_smile.png

Hello my kratom peeps!

So I received some samples from kratom eye today and I'm so disappointed. Their descriptions of their products made them sound amazing. I took 5 grams of the euphoric maeng da, felt nothing so took the other 5 grams and still nothing. I still have samples of big red and Bali-wood to try so I'll give one of them a go in the morning. If nothing else, their marketing is great. LOL.

First experience with kratom yesterday. At 18:00 ingested 5 gram Bali-poweder. Effects where mellow and easy for about two hours. I felt kinda drunk, nothing more. At 20:00 ingested another 2.5 gram Bali-Powder. It then took me 20 minutes and BANG daddy felt heavy waves of euphoria. Body was very heavy. Effects were for real. Damn.. For 1 1/2 hours I could't do nothing. Just laying around an chilling. Somewhere between 22-23 I stood up to make some tea. Thats where the nausea started. I threw up like a champion!

After that I got into bed and slept for 10 hours straight. Like a baby.

Funny stuff.

Since were allowed to talk about venders.

Will Y'all share your fav vender and strain for that warm fuzzy euphoria??

=)

I think you've tried all the ones mentioned here except herbal cafe. And their strains don't have what you're looking for. 😏

Do you mind asking what strain you like, TL? It's a shame a herbal cafe doesn't have what you like. I simply love her RVB! Also, kratom warehouse has a great Red VB as well. I'm pretty much a red girl but Green Malay from sacred plant life is my second favorite.

HB&M carries some hard to find strains and are very high quality also.

Hi, new user looking to try out Kratom. Which type would anyone recommend for helping with sleep? /default_blush.png

Hopefully it's okay that I'm answering for TL. She likes the strains that give the euphoric feeling. Unfortunately it's very hard to hold onto that feeling even with strains that work at doing that for awhile. With tolerance comes the loss of euphoria. I'm wondering that even if you switch up vendors but only use say, red Borneo, wouldn't that cause your tolerance to build? I would think you'd need to switch up strains completely but just guessing.

I tried hb&m and wasn't a fan. I got the premium sampler pack and had high hopes but I wasn't too impressed. 😟

Just tried kava for the first time. Kinda just made me a little sleepy? Maaaaaybe..? It was hard to tell if anything was happening or I was just trying to convince myself. Anyway, I would rate it as EXTREMELY mild when it comes to effectiveness (for me personally). Doesn't touch pharms. Your mileage may vary but I wouldn't get too upset if unable to get this particular thing, as in my opinion you aren't really missing out on anything. Anything very substantial, anyway. I will say that I didn't really mind the taste of the tea with a spoonful of honey added, and maybe kinda even liked the taste a little. So there's that. It makes a nice tasting decaf tea.

How much did you take? I've been taking three tsp and I would definitely describe it as a mild feeling. I might try upping my dose to see if that gives me more relaxation. And I totally know what you mean when you say you wonder if it's in your head or really working. LOL.

You know, I have no idea. It came in prepared tea bags of "kava root extract and stevia leaf" (I don't know what stevia leaf is, maybe some type of flavoring additive?), the packaging had all kinds of liver warnings all over the wrappings and suggested "for a stronger tea, use 2 tea bags" so that's what I did. Maybe this wasn't the purer stuff..? The person I was with seemed to be a leeeeeetle more effected than me. I am on a fair amount of meds, to be fair, also. It was "Yogi Kava Stress Relief" brand.

Really?? I've used them twice and liked the Sunda. That's all I've tried from him though. RVB is my fav and I think the best buy for quality is from Kratom Warehouse. I do think strains should be switched often. More than I switch anyway. I pretty much stick to RVB and Green Malay. I need to find a couple of more to keep my tolerance guessing. I've not been getting that "ah ha" feeling the past couple of weeks. Not sure what's going on.
What is your very favorite strain and vendor?

I LOVE Herbal,Cafe's RVB but TL didn't care for her product. I think individual bodies and metabolism has a lot to do with it.

You know, today is the first day I've seen warnings about liver issues associated with kava. I'm just really surprised but I guess I need to look into that more.

I did try the Sunda because I had heard such great things about it but it was just a 15 gram sample. Maybe I need to give it another try. I haven't tried their RVB so I think I'll place a small order. It's the closest vendor to me, only about 10 minutes away so delivery is one day.

I'm burnt out on everything I have. My favorite vendors have been Dayak and Botanical Wellness. I do love their RVB's. I love kratom-k too but they're a little too pricey.

I didn't try the RVB from herbal cafe. Just the thai and a few others that I can't remember now. Not sure what I was thinking not getting that strain?! My favorite strain is definitely RVB. Hands down.

hello Phrenicz /default_smile.png

i've been ok. i've been around here a little. i can't help but think you're confusing me with another member though, Lemon maybe?  /default_wink.png

and beachgirlie90- i think the kava & liver issues only occur when certain companies use other parts of the kava plant (they are only supposed to use the root- which should not affect your liver). apparently what happened is- years ago when kava became popular in the U.S.- manufacturers could not keep up with the demand and started to use all parts of the plant to their supplements- some people had severe liver problems after taking the supplements- and that's where the liver rumors started. it is possible some supplements do still contain some parts of the plant that affect your liver- i don't know- but when buying kava- look for quality kava that contains kava root only. i don't think the stems/leaves or whatever even do anything- but they can be potentially dangerous. google it, as it's something i read in the past & i'm just going by what i recall from my memory.

I am sooooo jealous you guys. Iove kratom, but it won't let me poooo. I know...tmi ..tmi. I've tried everything. Nuthimg works. I'm wondering if the capsule form or the liquid will make that dept a Lil bit easier ;)

  2. ontovzik @ ontovzik: When I had long term shingles, lasting two months. All he could give me was a 10 day supply of dilaudid. He looked at the ground while we were talking about it. I could tell he was ashamed but it was the legislature and the governor that tied his hands. He was very upset that non-medical political people, the media, and the scared public were controlling how he treated his patients. Someday those people will need meds and a hospital bed and they will be gone.
  3. ontovzik @ ontovzik: I had a great doctor, he had the true gift of a healer and he stayed on top of all the science. He straight up told me that for many people opiods work for managing short and long term pain.

  5. WTF7218 @ WTF7218: @xenxra 😆😂. Yes, but only a few brave souls will ever find the number. You must first order a Dirty Shirley from the bartender. Then you must discreetly take the cocktail napkin from under your drink and unfold it. There you will find the map to the location of the phone number, and clues to decipher the code that it is written in.
  6. xenxra @ xenxra: he left his phone number scribbled in a stall at the pub three blocks down
  7. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar I would try one of those easy online ones .. reddit gives useful info about that
  8. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.

  14. N @ NYStateofMind: I didnt really tell him but he knew I needed a new script since my dr went to jail
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  16. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  18. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  19. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  20. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
